Motorola E398/Motorola V551: Will it work with Tmobile?

:confused: I am panning on buying someone either moto E398 or moto V551...will both these phones work on TMobile USA network? i belive the V551 has EDGE which i know Tmobile does not support....then the E398..well it's not offered by Tmobile...if anyone can enlighten me, I would reall appreciate it! :) thanks in advance ;)

It will work, as long as they are unlocked. Although the V551 offers EDGE, it doesn't necessarily have to use it...it's just a capability that won't be used until T-Mobile offers EDGE later this year. I think all Cingular phones are unlocked initially, and so I think it would be safe just to get it from them. As for the E398, it will also definitely work, so no worries! In general, any GSM phone, one that uses a SIM card, will work on T-Mobile, as long as it uses the 1900MHz band...VERY IMPORTANT! As the lack of that will render it useless in the US...
