According to that site it was posted on 15th December 2004, 11:25. Surely if it was real someone would have picked up on it earlier? Its over a month old, which in mobile rumour terms is like a decade.

Did not notice that. But yeah, some Hungarian guy on Mobile-Review said they discussed it on the forum and concluded its a fake. To me it seems it could have been some early prototype as it does resemble what 6680 is expected to look like.

Shaheen, I agree, i.e. I am sure its real in the sense that some held a phone like that in his hand. Not sure if it exactly the same design that will be released though.

Still, the phone on the picture exhibits some recognizable design elements of newer Nokia smartphones. I wouldn't be too surprised if the actual model is released in a very similiar form.

Daedalus, I doubt it, some specs found on the web point to the regular 176*208 screen. But, you never know until you know :)

This whole thing about the screen being stretched is crap, has no one noticed that the proportions of the text of the screen are the same as any other S60 device? They don't look stretched or wider at all, all of the text looks perfectly in proportion to any other S60 device, so it can't be 'just an old screen thats been stretched' can it?

you could barely see the text, besides, with some photo shopping you could fix the text dimensions. that picture looks like it's been photoshopped the HELL OUT OFF, i can't believe you actually think it's true!

i'll wait till that chinesse site post pics of the real thing, for now im not buying any of this crap!

even if tha pic is face, the phone looks really cool and nokia should employ that designer... the older pc rendered picture made the phone look ugly, but this one makes it look alot nicer especially with the colors he/she used.

I think the screen size is okay, just maybe 12 pixels taller to accomodate the status bar and battery life like in the SX1 and X...anyways, here's a clearer version of the pix:

Thats a point too, theres no two different pictures, probably from two different creators. I know the last one that carcomptoy posted was a CGI but it does look almost exactly like the 'real' ish one that we've seen before. Now what are the odds that two different pictures can resemble each other that much?

I'm not saying I 100% believe the pictures, and it prolly is a fake, but we'll see who's right in a month or so when Nokia unviel it. Besides, O2's 3G consumer service is a little way off yet.

Daedalus, I agree. My guess still remains that the pics are both real in the sense that they both are of prototypes: one just a rendering of a possible design (that may or may not be the final design), the other a mock/test prototype model (that for sure is not the final thing).

It's just a spy picture, of course it wont look good. Even if it's wider, at least it has a good, 256K screen that is larger than the usual S60 screen.
