E1000 : Likes and Dislikes

I've ordered this phone and should arrive by end of the week. (hopefully)

Just wondering, I would love to know the like and the dislikes of this phone from the users. Especially, more info on its wmv playback and video recording performance would be nice. (What resolution/framerate it records at etc..)

Let's start a E1000 user feedback thread..! :p

So no one yet? Okay, here's my short take. (I'll update as time goes by)

Summary :

- It can play MP4 video files in 3gp format in full screen. (Big wow factor)
- Sound is just superb. I mean, it really sounds like it has stereo speakers.
- LCD is just the best that i've seen in this phone size. 320x240 resolution.
- Menu response is quick and easy to use. Also, many parts are customizable.
- It can record videos up to 4mins in length each time. Till the memory fills up.
- But it doesn't record videos using mp4 codec. So quality isn't the best.
- It can't play WMV files either. Only 176x144 resolution 3gp / mp4 files.
- It can play high bit rate 192kb mp3 file perfectly. Haven't tried higher yet.
- Oh, did I say that the speakers are just out of this world? =P
- Expandable memory. Hopefully the 256mb card will come out soon.
- 1.2mp camera is okay outdoors, not so good indoors. (Too noisy when dark)
- Speaker phone quality is good. Very loud and usable even while driving.
- Battery life is quite good it seems. Or not any worse than other phones.

Some Niggles :

- When charging the phone while it's turned on, the LCD backlight does not turn off / black out. Have no idea why they made it like this.
- There is no auto keypad lock timer. You have to lock it by hand.

Well, that's it for my 1 day trial of the phone so far. More later. =)

okay, i found a way to turn off the backlight while charging if you want it to be dark while sleeping.. =)

While charging, turn off the back light and change brightness to zero.

then it should turn off while charging. :D

(both settings are in the "main menu > settings > initial setup")

The Audio & Video playback quality of the E1000 is absolutely awesome..I just love the phone for this.
Camera is just decent I would say.
I dont really like the side buttons.
