Does anyone if I put an unregistered SIM in a phone, if it'll still send out signals or not? I'm wondering because I have a Nokia 3300, and I just wanna know if it'll be safe enough to use on the plane with an unregistered SIM...

I don't know what you mean by unregistered, can you use this sim normally ?
If so I would say it would be fine, but you're not allowed to use your phone on the plane.
If you mean one which is disconnected for whatever reason then as far as I know the phone will still send/recieve signals.
The flight people will tell you to turn it off anyway even if it didn;t !

How come I've never seen airplane mode for GSM phones, except perhaps the SE P800...most of the CDMA phones here in the US have airplane mode, and it really bothers me that even high end GSM phones don't have airplane mode. Is there some technological explanation to this or are the manufacturers just overlooking this simple yet important feature?!
