nokias can be done here at this site....most other makes need the use of data cables or require a flash.

One that I know of is cellularpager.com. They're based in Oakland, CA; I've had a great experience with them. Their going rate for most phones is $20 per unlock, which isn't bad. Also, they have free ground shipping...

Free ground shipping...not a bad deal at all!

Hi guys,
Just to let you know that not just Nokias can be unlocked remotely, alot of other makes/models can be unlocked remotely.
For example Samsung :
Model: Samsung SGH-E700
*2767*688#
In newer phones:
#*7337#
That's the unlock code for all those models ;)
If I get the chance at the weekend I'll make up a thread and add in all the phones that can be remotely unlocked.

Thanks, this is very helpful. The only problem I can see with remotely doing this is that you seem to need a special cable that not everyone has. maybe there is no way around this.

Remote unlocking is typing a code into the phone(s) keypad. You don't need any cable for remote unlocking.

thanks, sorry, yes I was confusing this with another method - I need to get a big list of this info, and I thank you in advance if you get a chance to make up that thread you refer to. You'd think that someone would have a single site that lists them all.

I'll look into it for you.
By the way, you know that is not a GSM phone, right? It is iDEN and will not work with GSM networks even though there is a sim inside!
