Hi Guys,
I've just got a 7710 and was wondering if I'm experiencing a problem. The phone doesn't seem to be able to register a full-charge even after 9 hours of charging. I would like to know if other 7710 users experienced this.
Hope to hear from you guys. :)

The bar stops moving after full charge?
@Powerpuff
I had the same problem with my 9500. You need to remove the battery from the unit before a charge. And then when you are using it remove the battery a couple of times before you need to re-charge it. It took me about three attempts at a full charge before the battery charge calibration of the 9500 worked properly.
Also for new users of the 7710 - don't chagre the battery from new; use it for a while say until it reaches one bar on the battery meter. I found Nokia batteries perform batter if your first charge (and the next two/three) are full charges. A full charge should be around 10/12 hrs, even if the battery indicator says fully charged after 3 hours (best to charge overnight).
PS- with my 7710 I have not suferred this issue.

That's correct. Anyway, do not worry much bcos even in the user's manual it is stated that the battery will only be fully charged after a number of charge and discharge. That's normal actually

Thank you all for the explanations.
Yup! I guessed I was over-reacting. *Hehe* My phone can register a full charge now. I have to agree with Jah on the Charging battery tip. I charged mine after 4 bars have depleted (till the little battery icon turned red) on the first day. It took more than 8 hours. Second day, I charge it for 9 hours.
Now, the phone is working fine and the battery lifespan seem to be slightly longer. I've been playing with it most of the time for the whole day and it stills register a 4 bar.
Overall, I love this phone very much.

It cost me RM2.5K. I work for a company that distribute phones :) I don't know how much it is in USD but if converted directly using the forex-rate, it shouldn't be USD1K.

yeh man thats well over priced, im getting mine 2mro:D, about the psp the best place to get it from if possible is directly from japan, i picked mine up for £150-£160 thats the value pack, with which you get all the accessories, again over charging you by a lot, thats why im glad my friends are able to buy the things i want when they go on holiday:D the 7710 im not sure the price will drop that much, well at least not for a while, and as nokia have 'annouenced' that they are not going to continue series 90, it should be a fair while before the price drops, neway just my 2pence:)

hi
i bought mine yesterday for Indian Rs.25700 ($590) with bill and warranty. It was boxed pack and working well. Mine doesn't have such battery problem. Battery is running good. I charged it yesterday and today after 20 hours its still 100% up. Yep i am not using it all the time.

hmmmp...and why does nokia plan to discontinue series90??!!
@Darkelf
Nokia want to simplify life for Symbian s/w develoepers. PPC developer only need to develop for one platform but for Symbian there are four UI types at the moment: Series 60, Series 80, Series 90 & UIQ. This add a lot of overhead in development and maintenance for developers which could make Symbian less comercially attractive.

umm.thts gonna be like windows...everyone hates it but still uses it...
i guess xperimentation would rather die and ppl would no longer be THAT interested in symbian phones cuz all of em would have the same ****, even the developers wont have to work harder.they'll just slap on the same OS to all of em.....DEAth of INovation, murder of style and taste...its like shoving the same hamburger down yer throat even if ya dont like it...
*sigh*everything lately has been so depressing..*sigh*:(

Hello Vicky,
I searched for .nth but it says not found. I also checked through file manager / transfer file option in nokia suit and it also doesn't show any such file.
where can i find it. ?
@Darkelf
be cool! We will have UIQ, which is not used by Nokia to ensure competition within the Symbian camp on UI. The base OS is similar (a little varition with versions etc) for all Symbian phones. You should look at the Motorola A1000 - second generation Symbian 3G phone with integral GPS! No PPC has achieved this yet and Motorola have had 3G UIQ phones for over 12 months! But Moto don't have a WiFi phone - but in a few months SE will have one! So you see there is a lot of variation and basis for competition.
