Radio Headsets for Nokia 6630

Hiya All...

As ya'll mighta noticed from my earlier posts..i'm caught between a rock and a hard place choosing between a 6630 and a 7710... :o

..and as you can see most of you would have me go in favour of a 6630..

the thing is i heard of a nokia radio headset on some post in this forum (cant remember whose it was..)..i guessed it would solve the issue of no radio on a 6630...but, i called a NPD here in mumbai...and they told me that the Nokia Radio headset wil not be compatible for the 6630... :(

would anyone know of any way in which we could get a radio on the 6630 ?

Nokia phones with Pop-port interface should support HS-2R.U can give a try.

then how come 6630 will support coz its stereo??? yo u Nokia idiots is there anyway to make ur fone stereo or release any dual mono headsets with radio.. i badly want 1 HS2R to work with Nokia 7610..

2 more ques.. is da hardware not capable or da software not capable of producing stereo output and support for HS2R.. if its da software y da f*** is Nokia not giving any software updates???
How to check da firmware version of Nokia 7610 and where to type it i mean whther in menu screen or wallpaper screen???

To Zeem,

Type in *#0000# like you would a tel no and that will show you your firmware id.
There is no way anyone can load a 6630 dos program into your 7610....firstly it would void your warranty and secondly the processors ie hardware are very different....incidentally 6630 uses Symbian OS 8.

HS-2R can not be used with the 7610 coz with the 7610 it will say, attachment not supported or something like that...

u can never turn the 7610 into a stereo since, it is not just a SW issue, it is very much a hardware issue...

the radio headset, as all headsets, can be used for answering calls and for MP3 playback...

HS-2R has Stereo FM output,BUT mp3 songs from N6630 are played in MONO only if U use HS-2R!!!!?????? Suprising BUT TRUE. For Listening mp3 songs with original Stereo effect in N6630 U need either Nokia HS-3(Mostly supplied with the phone) or Nokia HDS-3 which works very well.

Why can't Nokia just make both FM Radio and MP3 stereo?! The only Nokia I can think of doing is the 3300 and 5510 and 6230...right? Correct me if I'm mistaken. But anyways, does anyone know about stereo or mono on the 3230? It seems to be the most promising phone, but there's not much info...anyone care to share?
