this problem already happened to two of my phones, 3330 and 3530.

it has been my habit to leave my fone in the shower room causing these phones to be drizzled with water. I think it caused a malfunction to the keypad controls because some buttons wont function anymore while some are acting crazy. the right function button when pressed produces '9', * when pressed produces '7' while the others are also jumbled with each other. the call and left function button in my 3530 fails to work.

Ok, here is how to fix this problem:

Get yourself a T6 screwdriver and unscrew the screws from the PCB and you will notice that at the back of the buttons it will be black/brown, so just clean this off from the back of the keypad and the front of the PCB... Easy... ;)

You phone is getting water damaged - so don't bring it into the shower with you.......

I wonder how getting water-damaged n malfunctioning is a *Nokia* problem! Surely SE n moto fones don't behave any differently when they r dipped in water :)

Some Nokias are more waterproof then others like the 5210 and the 5140 i think it is.. but yeah don't expect a phone to work if you splatter water over it.. but then thinking about it, i've had my old 6610 in the bathroom shelf with the radio on for a year now and its still working.. despite the very humid conditions that it endures 3 times a day.

my 3510i did that, i never used it harshly or anything, yet the buttons sometimes dont work etc... just take the cover off and move the actual keypad around a bit lol usually works for me

I was just kidding... I thought everyone knew electricity/electronics and water do not like each other... and since he claimed it was a nokia problem, I told him to try SE/Moto.
