View Full Version : Motorola HS805 as Windows audio device?
Hello,
Looking through the forums, I see that people have successfully managed to use their mobile phone headset as a Windows audio device. I want to use mine with Skype.
I am using the generic Windows XP SP2 Bluetooth stuff, and I can get my Motorola HS805 to pair up and connect OK and it's displayed under "audio devices".
The problem is that "bluetooth audio" is not available when I look under "sounds and audio devices". When I get properties on the headset, no services are listed either.
Any ideas what I have to do to get Windows to use my headset as a mic / speaker?
Thanks,
MNL

Have you found a solution to this problem yet? I'm trying to get my Motorola HS810 headset to work as audio device with Windows XP, and I ran into the same issue you're having.
Have you tired microsoft?

I can't find anything on any Microsoft website (or any other site for that matter) that says how to get a bluetooth audio device to work on Windows XP. However, I *have* found some third-party software packages that claims they will work (although I haven't gotten either one to work yet). Here are the links:
WIDCOMM 4.0 Bluetooth Suite

AveLink Bluetooth Audio Driver
http://www.avelink.com/Bluetooth/Products/AudioDriver/
Well I have not tried that my self. If I come across any information I will send it your way. For what would you want to pair your headset with your computer for?? Honestly I don’t know?

I participate in a lot of teleconferences, and I hate wearing those bulky headsets with microphones. I would love to be able to use my tiny, sleek Motorola headset instead.
Also, I like to listen to music while at work, and it would be more convenient to listen via my headset than via a pair of normal headphones.

has anybody figured this out?
i have a moto HS810. it pairs just fine with my generic 1.1 bt usb dongle, but without an audio driver on the windows side (xp sp2) i'm SOL.
i've tried this link here for the widcomm stuff and the avelink stuff. my guess is they're the same underlying software - the install processes are wildly identical. neither worked for me. the avelink stuff kept telling me bluetooth was not enabled - even though it was. the widcomm stuff wouldn't get past its license.dat barrier.
i'd really like to get this working. anybody have a clue?
do i have to remove the MS BT stack before i install the avelink stuff? if so, how do i do that? my understanding is that tihs is like TCP/IP back in the windows 3 days - everybody has their own stack - so are they incompatible?
