My 7610 wont notify when receiving msg and such.. need help pls...

Hi.. im using a nokia 7610 and lately its been acting weird..
the first problem is whenever someone send me a msg... the phone wont play the msg tone... the phone wont even light up to notify.. the only sign of receivings msg im getting is tat theres a small msg icon on the top right of the screen... im sure theres no problem with the tone and when somebody calls.. the phone will ring as it normally should..

the second problem is usually when someone miss calls or msg... normally the phone in standby mode will show the msg "1 miss call" .. or "1 msg received"... and those msgs wont appear too.. its really wierd.. did i mess up with the settings? or is there a problem with my phone... help me pls... thanks in advance...

For your no tone in sms, check your settings in profiles. Maybe you changed things. For your second problem, check whether you have turned off your call log. If it is off, it may not display missed call/sms received, but icon will show. (I have not done this so I may be wrong here).

If you want to try yourself, search around this forum/the Internet for how to format your phone memory. Keep in mind all data is lost so back up your contacts, etc. first. Otherwise you may have to take it to Nokai Service Centre.

well i did get the no notification for sms problem before but it's due to the installation of the SMS Counter program to my Memory Card, so I switched to installing the program to the phone memory and it's ok now

but i din't install anything at all lately.. i think it happened after i removed and put back my sim card... sigh.. T__T

Check whether have you chosen to save your smses in ur MMC card. I used to have such a problem until i reverted back the saving of smses into the phone itself. I think it's the MMC card problem for mine. Not sure whether you are sharing the same problem as me before.

well i save my msg to my mmc card but there's no prob wif notification

lol.. i tried setting the msgs to be saved in the mmc instead of the phone memory and its all fixed... thanks guy.. ^^
