Nokia 6630 or Samsung D500 help me to decide plz [Archive]

Hi guyz
I want to buy a new phone since i sold my old Samsung V200
I got stuck wiv these 2 fones Nokia 6630 and Samsung D500
I want ur opinions as soon as possible coz i hav to decide before today night coz my cousin bro is going to singapore so i can tell him to bring 1

Features I love Samsung D500's screen but i want to confirm the camera qulaity which 1 is better N 6630 or S D500..

Another thing is i hate Symbian OS coz its kinda borin without animations..

I want to know the Cam difference pls help me..

my friend has a d500 and im gettin my 6630 on monday. The d500 is lovely nothin wrong apart samsungs tacky os. the 6630's os is much different from previous symbian handsets its like a new generation the cam is alot nicer than the d500 and of cours u have expandable memory and plus its a 3g handset so u have high speed data video calling the works the 6630 will last u alot longer plus its the first nokia series 60 to have mp3 stereo no need to take the bat out to insert mem card. Plus one thing i really love u can predefine a text that may say im busy at the mo and when some one calls u can reject the call by sms it cancels the call and send the caller the predefined text.

6630 without a doubt

ah plus the image and vid manager is gorgeous rotating picture view looks very slick.

dinna be daft man! d500 all the way. the steros sound is EXCELLENT. really loud and really good quality. the pics are great and the video is even superb, with sound. d500 ALL the way

Pls some more opinions wat abt the User Interface any1 got screen shots of it pls..
btw im impressed by samsungs UI its cool... if the new symbian is cool enough then i will go for it.. pls guys i got only around 3 hrs to decide probably 2 hrs so pls..

when you show the 6630 to your non mobile tech friends theyll be makin jokes about the size etc.... besides the d500 is cooool

the d500 cam is superb. the video is excellent. stereo sound output of mp3s loud and clear. and oh yes, it fones and texts so what else do you want!? plus looks WAY cooler than the nokia monster

Now tell me Shall i go for Nokia 7610 which will cost me 350 or Samsung D500 which will cost me 500.. urgent pal got to decide now..

D500 is a just a phone, it's very limited.

6630 is a smartphone, it's very flexible and has tons of options. plus it's 3G so im surfing the net/reading my email at broadband speed.

and pleeeeez guys, the 6630 is not big. SE P900 is what i call big.

more fool u guys i totaly agree with marwan the 6630 is far superior my friend who bought the d500 has taken it back today to change for a 6630 d500 life span 1yr max 6630 two years more its so advance its a joke i remember gritbox was goin nuts about the 6630 i just think that u bought it because the d500 came out before.

yo buddies im sorry for disturbing u guys.. well im settled off.. thx for ur opinions.. im getting the used 7610 where i hav to pay only 350 usds..so i can save money and wait for the Nokia 6680 and i Hope this is bloody cheap for 350 usds coz brand new is 500 usds in ma country..im happy although i dont like the boring interface..its a fair deal.. well a 6630 is waste for me coz its same as Nokia 7610 and in ma country there is no 3g..

And 1 thing i was afraid of the Sliding Mechanism..I guess it will get loose in couple of months..before i used a Samsung v200 where its a clamshell so nps.. and i like clamshell fones coz i put the fone inside my trouser pocket..

Until 6680 I can survive with a 7610.. :D

6680 aint ny different from 6630. not one bit (except for the second cam ASFAIK). 6630 is actually much nicer, better ergonomics. but if u like the design of 6680 more, sure. wait for it then. otherwise 6630, honds on. D500 aint nythin in front of it.
D500's cam is worst out of S700i, 6630 and itself.

i just think that the samsung (no offense to thos who like them, ok?) interface can be a little too, umm, juvenile looking. but hey, some people find the nokia interface boring. to each his own, i guess...

i'd give my right arm for a 6630 :)

plz dont give ur arm or something...nokia still hasnt made any software to catch people's organs...anyways i luv the way u wrote...samsung is just a phone to flaunt and nothing more than an idiot box i should say...no probs with samsung but u know somehow samsung fails to concentrate on features...its much of poise with best hardware material but loses the touch of technology.....

One piece of advice i think u should try...... get a ngage battery and check it out on 6630 like i advised u on the original thread better life and less of a recharge prob ;)

If u worried about fu------ the fone dont be the fone wont be with u all that while ;) i am willing to bet anythin on that probably a yr

i already got the Ngage QD battery like you advised me to, it's cool, the phone lasts longer, im on my 4th charge so far. how many charges before i get the full performance of the battery?

HAHAHAHAHAHA....good one, but the 6630 is a keeper, atleast i promied the wife i'm keeping it for a year....ofcourse she made sure she marked her calander! :D

:D good i aint married the LOL .... 6 charges is what ive found will give u ideal battery life the near 200 mah more really helps pack in more hours... as using 3g data am sure must be taxing on the battery ( i dont have 3g but ive read enough in other places to be sure of that )

i clocked it at over 5 hours of talk time thats an hr more than the rated time

i'm glad he chose the nokia above that D500. the 7610/6630 beats it without a doubt. its just sad that so many people think that samsung is good, a lot of them think that its better then nokia. ha so funny

only cuz the same is a phone and not a smartphone. had it been a smartphone, it would have competed with the 6630 to say the least!

in general, how the samsung quality? good stuff? hows the OS? i hope not as bad as SE's OS! :mad:

hes an anti everything except SE... hes from esato so it explains it

im tihnking bout getting the d500.. but not sure about lag.. i dont want it to be sluggish like s700

The S700 seriously isnt that bad. You guys are making it out to be much slower than it actually is.

The S700 seriously isnt that bad. You guys are making it out to be much slower than it actually is.

we're not making anything up. the S700 is a slow dog. i have used it for 3 months and it was rediculously slow, and i only had 30 pics or so on the MS.

heck even when i used to answer a call, pressing the button would lag a good 3 seconds before i hear the callers voice, and if you're going to do picture caller ID it even lags more.

after i used the 6630, the menus and respond is balistering FAST! even when the 6630 slows down a bit, it's still ALOT faster than S700.

i'm speaking from experience....and i know!
