If this has already been discussed I apologize and I hope someone can point me to the thread, but I wanted to know how many sound channels most phones on the market today had and which phones had the most sound channels for polyphonic ringtones. Currently I'm looking at phones like the motorolla v180 which has 24 channels. Thanks.

Yeah gsmarena has all info available on their site. Most phones nowadays work on 16 or 24 chords. There are others that have 40 and even up to 72 chords, but the ringtones we have never use that many instruments at once.

I dont see the point in having so many chords, they still sound ...er...below average...go mp3 instead!

But if the speaker doesnt support a certain amount of chords then it will be unable to play mp3's.

i dont even think mp3s use that many chords. I know the 24 is good (the P900 sounded great). I bet 16 chords is good enough too

WHAT U MEAN...MP3'S CHORDS...? MP3 THAT FILE TYPE RIGHT, SO ANY MUSIC/SOUND is used. As in the number of instruments people use? WeLL THE MAX NORMALLY ON POLYPHONICS is only about 16, for the general use anyway.

Yeah i was reffering to the number of instruments played at the same time.
