What do you think of the current SE models? Ever come across a phone you like and thought: awesome phone, but if only they...

Well heres you chance! If we can all voice our opinions on the ideal design for the next "dream" phone and with any luck, Sony Ericsson will get the hint and come out with something awesome! :)

Just one thing to note... even if it is a dream phone, it has to be something "physically possible" to make to date.
ie, no portable (Star Trek) transporter devices, etc

Naturally, I'll start:

Device Type: Smartphone
1. Start with a P910.
2. Replace with the P900 keypad
3. Modify the phone's storage, to be something similar to the apple iPod.
(the phone already has MP3 capability and more)
4. Add a remeovable USB/Firewire adaptor to the SE connector, so that it can function like a mass storage device.
5. Update to bluetooth 2.0
6. Add WiFi (G)
7. Add the built in light for the camera
8. While we're there, update the camera to a 2 mpx or more
9. Finally update the processor
10. Slim down the phone, or perhaps, make the phone similar to a thin clamshell design, or even with a slider option similar to that of the samsungs.
11. Have the option to record video in landscape mode.
12. Support for dual sim cards (eg. recieve calls from 2 different numbers, and obviously 1 outgoing, controlled via software on the phone.)

Anything else i leave out? :D

err... my phone would be a world rolled into one. so i can c my minions minding their business and me striking them down with lightning bolts and getting them to work on my calls while fighting thier wars and building cities.

actually mine came true! has MP3, Video, Light, Dual colour screen, Games, Max memory 1GB, 1.3MP camera and a flip phone! When you got all that you got V800!! The rest is a bonus, like 3G, Animated menus etc etc! coz I would like to have it as more of a all in 1 phone..

mine would be a S700, with touch screen but touch screen is only activated by a slide of a rocker on the side, and the interface would be the standard sony ericsson 12 icon menus controlled by the D-pad, but once the rockr switch is turned to something like "PDA" or "Organiser" the top icon resembles the P910's 'Application' button which looks like 4 blue dots in a square. And once the icon was tapped (touch screen of course) the screen reveals the standard Symbian UIQ interface...... dat would be perfect. A symbian UIQ hidden under the standard sony ericsson 12 icon menu.

It is good apart from the camera is a load of pants .... add the S700 camera to the V800 and make it a little smaller and I would be interested!

Closest thing to my dream phone is the i-mate jam, phone sized PDA with touch screen, 1.3mp camera but again the quality is pretty crap. I wish they would start improving the built in cameras as it only causes people to be disappointed when they have a 1mp+ handset and find the quality was actually better on their last VGA camera phone. :o

i only hope getting a VGA camphone comparable to my 3 yr old 2.0 MP Fujifilm's lowest resolution.......VGA as well but looked 100000 times better.

i hope SE produces Series 60 phones. thats a dream i think. i hope it comes true. it would be a superb one i think :cool:

from wat i can see with phones with camera... the quality will never reach with the quality of a picture taken by an actual camera. Personally a mega pixel camera in a phone means, u get a larger pic size rather than quality. So its goes to say if u want quality pic, get a real camera.. but yet again this is all a dream.. so lets us all dream on.. hehehe...

agree here.... but i hope SE will skin it's interfaces like what SendoX did.... Series 60 to me was just TOOO UGLY. 7610 was soo nice..... but internally, S60 looked so raw.... ugly.

wrong......... it's too RAW....... once clicking the "button" from the main screen to the series 60-everything u're presented with a "File Manager" it's not encapsulated enough. If series 60 were first implemented by motorola, i'm sure it will be bombarded by people of being un-user-friendly; but since that time Nokia was famous of being user friendly, people tend to shy away and keep on using it till they're used to it; it ain't "THAT" user friendly after all. :)

Siemens SX1 uses S60, but the icons are both 3D and colourful ....

Anyway, S60 is totally customisable through themes and apps that let you change the icons, if you want to, so is it really an issue? :rolleyes:
