but ironically they do not give public access to this map. If you are a tmobile customer you have a right to easily access this information. Please call t mobile at 1-877-878-7326 and demand to have access this detailed map.

You can search the map by city, state, and address. The map shows coerage with different shades of color. At this time only dealers and tmobile its self have access to this map. Tmobile remember we are the customer and your coverage map is there for our benifit.. so open up access to atleast your customers.

Thanks...so are you a T-Mobile representative or something? Just out of curiosity, if you are one, what're the requirements to be a sales representative?

Thanks for posting that number. I am traveling in a few weeks and now I can check exactly if there is coverage.

Well, you have to keep in mind, most people are in metropolitan areas, thus that's why carriers concentrate on these areas. It'd be pointless to spend money to have awesome coverage when there's only one person in a remote area, right? Besides, the majority of people, even when they travel, are on highways, thus most highways are covered:D

To be a rep, you just need to have some sort of venue to sell the phones, like a store front or kiosk. You need to pass whatever credit checks and you need to just fill a quota of x amount of phones sold per month. You may also need some $ to have a few phones in stock, but that depends on who ur agent is and how much inventory you need to puchase up front.

its funny that you guys think t-mobile has to give you access to this map. you should be glad that one of the major carriers actually offers such a thing. try to get a street level coverage map from any of the other carriers. i think t-mobile is being very customer friendly by letting sales reps and dealers check to make sure you have coverage in the areas you plan to use the phone most so you don't buy a phone from them under false pretenses. try and get that from cingular or vzw. and they do have a link to this map on their regular web site for all to see.

and just so you know i am not an employee of t-mobile but do sell their service as an authorized dealer. i think they are doing customers a favor by being the first to offer such a map.

and i am sorry if i have offended anyone, that is not my intention. i only wanted to put in a different perspective.

Well, actually, T-Mobile is letting customers use it on the website now, so that's further proof that they listen to their customers.

I guess we T-Mobile customers are just spoiled, so we want more more more. :D On the other hand, people from Cingular and Verizon have a harder time getting what they want, although there are some exceptions. Then again, most of the time those two carriers to get better reception than T-Mobile, at least from what I've heard from others. In my experience, T-Mobile has good coverage where it counts, except for a little rural town in New Mexico which I think they should invest more as it is a growing city.

T-Mobile is very customer friendly. If you have a problem with a store or rep and u fill out one of those surveys they have, they actually call you and talk to u about it. I dont see any of the other carriers even caring how the service was.

What about Cingular and Verizon, how are their Customer Services? I've been debating whether or not to switch to Cingular, but I think I'd miss the 24/7 available of T-Mobile Customer Care. However, sometimes I get annoyed by the reps cause sometimes I'd like to just explain things in their true technical terms, but they don't always understand, until of course, you're connected to a technician or someone or other way up there. I kind of miss the times when they use to just give me credit and minutes for my troubles...why'd they stop doing that?

What would possess you to even think of switching to Cingular?

I know I know...but like EDGE and then now UMTS is pretty tantalizing. And plus, I was in the store the other day and they had incoming calls for $2.99...very "appetizing" since most of my minute-killer calls are incoming! Still, they can't match my 300 Talk & Text $29.99 plan with the old more fully-featured $2.99 t-zones (300 minutes, 800 texts, unlimited GPRS, 30 pic/video messages) and plus the CallerTunes...I love how it trips people out!:p

Lol, well EDGE is not that big of a deal to me (since i just bought a new, non-EDGE phone, lol). And Cingular doesnt offer UMTS service here in New York...

carcomptoy
04-06-2005, 05:40 PM
Well, no, I mean like later...I know UMTS right now is very limited and is on the 1900 band instead of the more popular 2100, which is quite a turn off since I wouldn't be able to use the coveted Eurasian phones.

Btw, do you know when T-Mobile will be debuting EDGE? I've heard it's going to be this summer...IT BETTER BE honestly

Also, just out of curiosity, which phone did you get?

Box215
04-06-2005, 07:32 PM
I got an S700...i heard something about June. Ive also seen reoprts of it already being live in Atlanta, although im not sure at all if thats true.

carcomptoy

Do you know if EDGE pricing will be the same as GPRS t-zones? I have a grandfathered version of t-zones which goes for $2.99 with unlimited GPRS plus 300 texts and 30 pic txts...do you think I'd be able to take advantage of EDGE?

Box215
04-07-2005, 07:05 PM
I actually have that same T-Zones plan. But i dunno, i would certainly hope so! I fugure since i've had my T610 since october of 2003, i can ugrade that to an EDGE phone when they launch. Theyd better give me a good deal, lol. And EDGE better be cheap if it wont work with the unlimited T-Zones, cause my bill is already something like $71 a month with tax.

carcomptoy
04-07-2005, 07:21 PM
Seriously, it'd better work on the current t-zones plan! Well, right now, they just released the N3220, which has EDGE...obviously in preparation for the rollout. And it's free! But it's making me mad, because for the past two days, they haven't had the 3660 or 6600 on the website, making the N-Gage QD the only S60 online as of now. I'm getting scared...could that be the beginning of the end???:p It best not be...I'd be super excited if they had the 7610a or maybe even 6630 to replace them! Heck, I'd even settle for the 6260!

BTW, was it you who told me that T-Mobile's planning to get 850 bandwith? I hope not...I love the fact that even the dualband Samsung phones have 900 instead of 850, enabling some international roaming!

Box215
04-07-2005, 10:39 PM
Nooo, wasnt me who said anything about 850. I dont think that T-Mobile can really switch 850 now, because all 17 million+ of their customers have non 850 phones. But i suppose if the rollout of 850 was gradual, so would the rollout of 850 phones... I really see no smooth way of transitioning to a dualband network. All of Cingulars tri-band phones have some international roaming, as they have 1800. Cingular just wont let you roam with them.

carcomptoy
04-08-2005, 06:28 PM
Yeah they will...I saw it on the website. They have international roaming available, and in some cases is cheaper in some countries than T-Mobile's pricing, and even offers an international plan with decreased rates. Still, having an 850/1800/1900 is bothersome if you need the 900 band like in the Philippines. I loved how even my basic Samsung N105 and R225m's worked there because they had the 900 band...if I were on Cingular, my basic phones would've been 850/1900, preventing its use there...

Box215
04-08-2005, 08:10 PM
oo, well i know ATT wouldnt let you roam with a tri-band 850/1800/1900 phone. Only quad-band.

carcomptoy
04-10-2005, 06:16 PM
Why wouldn't they? The roaming is dependent on your plan, not the actual phone. It's not gonna matter to them whether or not you have an American triband phone or a quadband...as long as you pay for the service. Besides, if you're gonna go somewhere like the UK where it's 1800-only, it'd be okay with them in any case...

Box215
04-10-2005, 07:15 PM
No, trust me. You could only add the international plan for $4.99 a month if you had an "international" phone, which were only their quad-band phones.

carcomptoy
04-10-2005, 08:05 PM
So what say if you had the 6620, they wouldn't let you roam??? What if you told them you got a 900/1800/1900MHz phone to use? That's immensely stupid...on T-Mobile you can activate WorldClass even if you only have an American dualband! Hmmm...oh well not like I'll be travelling internationally soon, unless going across the border to Mexico counts (not really for El Pasoans since it's just a stone's throw:p)

Box215
04-11-2005, 05:40 PM
Well i just came back from europe a little more than a week ago, and it upsets me to no end that there isnt dicounted roaming if youre in a country where there T-Mobile. I visited both England and the Netherlands, where they have T-Mobile. Wouldve saved me a lot of money. Lucky for me my phone is unlocked, cause when i was in Belgium i used a local sim (Mobistar).

carcomptoy
04-11-2005, 06:04 PM
Yeah I was wondering about that too!!! I mean, if we stay within the same network, why not have discounted or even no additional cost??? I think the T-Mobile groups should get together and agree on roaming rights so that their customers have discounted rates when they roam on each other's networks. It only makes sense right???

Not sure to post the message here. But I'm new to this.

I don't understand the difference in price between the sites. I do understand that there is a price difference, but not that much.

Example: www.phonego.net offers ringtones at 50p and mobile videos at £000.50 while most other sites charge around 8 times the amount. I saw THE SINGHSONS for that price, so good videos.

cheers,

Just depends who their distributor is...btw, this would have gone better in either the Buy and Sell area or the General Phone Discussion:D
