News on X70 Release ? .. Anyone ??

I found the phone on sale at mobilefly.com. Have never done any business with this web site so I do not know if it is legit. But it looks like they have them.

The x70 is available in the orange shops now on contract. I dont know if it is coming out on any other networks before xmas or on PAYG though. I myself am fed up of waiting for the v600 and hoping it will be out before xmas...like most people!

After being a UK panasonic user for 5 years now and having all Panasonics high end phones I have been on the case regarding the X70 for quite a while. The following is a result of my efforts(!)

The Panasonic X70 is exclusive to Orange, I have spoken to someone high up in Voda and they have stated they are happy with their current exclusivity deals with both Sharp and Nokia (the latter I think being a fib!). They have no plans for the future to include the X70 on their network.

I have not contacted 02 or T-mobile but since orange are selling these like hot cakes I would imagine their response to be the same.

Vodafone did mention however that Voda where due to release the X60 which is a phone I am not aware of - but the girl did describe it as 'nasty' so it may be slightly updated version of the GD87/88 ora slightly less featured X70.

Also I have been told that The carphone warehouse in the UK are planning to sell the phone sim free. http:\extele.net are also advertising this, with a retail of £350 so if you don't want to change from your network to orange and you REALLY want the phone then this is an option for you (extele also export to outside the UK) personally I transfered and got the phone for £30.

In regard to the above, it would depend on how the service providers in your country view it. Some may want to enter into a 'bidding war' with Orange for a portion of the exclusivity. This is a similar situation to what happend when the Sharp GX10 was released last year in the UK.

The best thing you can do is speak directly to someone in the marketing department of your service providers - they will know and are generally willing to tell you!

Also you could order it sim free from the UK!

yeah ok but in my country where i come from there isnt any orange and dont exist here in Malta . there is Vodafone and another local service provider. so u think they would ship them here without the contract of orange ?

To be fair it is down the Voda in Malta whether they think the it would be viable to bid for the rights with Panasonic to sell the phone in Malta.

Voda in various counties run in different ways, ie Voda uk chose not to purchase the rights from in-fusio to have the 'exen' games availible for download from their WAP site. Instead they spent all the time and effort ensuring that the Sharp GX10/Nokia 7650 etc where fully suported. Voda in France or Italy (can't remember exactly) did the opposite and chose to support the GD87 by having 'exen' games on their wap sites.

At the end of the day, the phone is availible so it will just be a matter of time to see exactly what happens. Like I've stated before their is a company in the UK (one that IS trustable - I've ordered tons of phones from them) that will sell and ship the X70 to you.

does anyone know when this phone is hitting the United States. I totally want the Moto V600 but I have no clue when the phone is coming out. Until the V600 comes out I will be debating between the NEC 525 and the X70 I guess???
