How can install application on the S700 using a memory card reader?

I have a memory card reader that i use to transfer pics and MP3 from my PC to the S700(or any other mobile phone). Now i noticed when i transfer application using BT, it usually asks me if i want to install the application on the S700. but when i do it using the memory card reader in which folder should i copy the application(or game)? i tried dumping them into some folders, and when i run my phone, they end up in the "OTHERS" folder, and when i try to run it, it dosnt run. theonly options i get are Send, Detail, Move, Copy and so on! :confused:

Hey marwan, if the application ends up in the "others" folder and doesn't run. Then you can't use it on the s700. There were a bunch of t610 that I tried sending to my phone that ended up in the "others" folder. No matter what I tried, I couldn't use them or move them anyplace else.

i just dont understand why it works using BT but not through card readers! :mad:

Delete a file that you know works on your phone, then try copying it to the card reader and see if it works. If it doesn't work, then SE needs to add that bug to their firmware update.

as far as i know, apps dont work through card readers. only bt and dss20/25

btw shaheen, the P910 does install application through card readers. you just go to file manager and select install from there.

It's because java apps aren't installers... they run inside the phone. it's just weird that the phone recognizes them as they were transfered through BT or syncstation but the phone thoughts it's just helping to carry some 'Other' files for the owner when drag and drop directly. There's an even weird situation, if i right click and click 'Send via Bluetooth' then the app will run on my K700, but if i use OBEX file transfer protocol, the phone thought it's receiving some kinda external file and refuse to run it. :confused:
