As you use your battery down the road, the battery life span will become better.

wow, bought it finally? so,... did it reached a price u're satisfied with? or u just dun care and bought it anyway??! :D
does ur phone firmware version the newest one. it makes the battery life better.
yeah commedecargons I just bought it, I couldn't wait any longer. The firmware I don't have an idea what firmware it has but in the manual it is the version form Mars. The camera was quiet good here at home but I took some pictures in a pub and the pixels how do I have do say they become so white so unclear is it normal?
the radio isn't so good here and I live very close to a tower so normally it must be better, on my n-gage the connection was better by radio.

Dunno bout the reception, but in Malaysia using it's 1900mhz and 1800mhz, it's very good. Regarding the camera, i dun understand; can u explain again? Normally these VGA cams perform badly in dark places, even in room under incandescent lights, pics taken outdoors will be tons better i guess. But all in all, they're just VGAs..... hehe
Well, hope u're happy with it. :)
the camera I mean that if you are in a darker place then you can see the pixels realy and if you see the picture that you wanna take before you take it, it is very clear but if you have taken the picture it is much lighter and you can realy see the white pixels (points) and the radio if I have the earpiece on it is very clear but with the speaker it is a bit noisy. yeah I am very happy with it accept for the battery but great phone camera outdoor it is quite good I think but indeed in darker places bit dissapointed because if I go out to a pub or something else I wanna take pictures from hot chicks ;) but quality is not so good ;) but in a couple of weeks I am gonna buy an usb cable so then I can let you see what I mean with the camera in the dark
wich is the newest software because mine it says:
R2L001
prgCXC125821_EU_1_C
yes it is the newest one. try to turn off ur bt while ur not using it. that will help ur batt last longer.

The newest formware corrects a bug with the battery display indicator, so that it displays the power level more accurately.
@Davy
The battery life will improve somewhat as you use your K700, but unfortunately not to the level that one would expect or want. The battery is the biggest flaw in the K700, in my opinion, otherwise an excellent mobile.
yeah it is a great phone but does somebody have the same thing with pictures taken in darker places that they become lighter and that the picture become vague with white points?

@Davy
The K700's camera doesn't appear to be terribly effective in darkened conditions.

I did a test that day, with K700is night mode versus Nokia 600 and understand why people say the 6600's very good. But after testing, i found that K700's was nearer to what i saw in real life that day. The time was around 9:30PM and we're sitting at some indian tea stalls by the road side, there were no proper lighting or whatsoever, the K700's night mode turns out just a tee bit of darker than what we sw, but 6600's night mode turn out to be lightings as if it were 6 - 7pm when the sun's about to set, it was sooo bright !! Unrealistic but nice to see
the K700's night mode turns out just a tee bit of darker than what we sw
that is strange with my k700i the night mode turn out lighter than what we saw but I will sent you some pictures when I have my usb-cable but sometimes the photos are pretty good in the dark and sometimes not I don't understand but I will show it to you it is difficult to explain

i mean after taking the pics....... now what we saw from the view finder...... but, it's actually hard to judge, evry lighting condition is different...... can't really judge it by 'Night time'
that is right but I don't know but in the beginning the pictures where perfect here at the evening with a bit light and now it is worser, it seems that the camera is worser than in the beginning but thats impossible because I just have it a week and the camera isn't damaged because I am very careful with it so

hehe, anyway; we dun usually shoot long or mid range photos after the sky went dark, not even with low end digi cameras, therefore for face portraits or hand length photos; the K700 had a assists light that greatly increases the visibility! :D

Hi all, I am planning to get a SE K700i and I'm wondering what to expect from the video camera. Other phones I have tried (Sharp GX20, Nokia 3220) have such low frame rates that it is only possible to video something that does not move. This is the definition of a still camera, if I'm not mistaken. Any ideas?

it's fine for the K700 recording video; but it'll perform better under enough sun light in comparison to low light conditions.
dont buy this phone.vga camera suks.useless in dark place i have used X600
cheaper phone then this one u can take pics in dark places but this camera
suks.sony dissappointed me alot.how could they produce such a bad camera
released it in the market.my piece of advice to all dont buy this piece of
hit.its unfirendly difficult to download pics and bad camera result in darkness.
don't judge the vga cam. if u want good picture in low light buy a real digital cam. however the selling point of k700i is not the cam, s700i is the one.

True!!!
Actually, the camera of the K700i is quite good. Same level as the Samsung E600. By the way, does the K700i has a "matrix mode" in the camera function like the Samsung phones?

just wondering what's the danger of updating the K700i firmware...is it official or non-official...will my warranty void? please reply..i'm hesitating to get the K700i but thinking of the Noia 6260...tell me more about the firmware of SE K700i...thanks :)

nothing, it's just updates release by SE if they found some small problems dat needs addressing. For example if u bought ur K700 around 6 months back, it'll be more battery consuming than the latest K700, this is due to difference of firmware or dats a flaw in the previous one. However if u haven bought one, i guess there won;t be any new firmwares being rolled out already.... :) but do check jus to make sure. :p

so that means this update is official? from SE? that means i wont have my warranty void? i see u have an icq?can we chat direct? its much more easier..i'm from kl too..need more info on k700i

no problem..... any update is done from Sony Ericsson's website, u won't get ur warranty void. Updates are provided by SE themselves, a product was pushed to the market once everything's done, but after feedbacks from the first batch of customers, SE then only knew bout the small buggy problems from each handset..... then they release a 2nd batch product with fixed problems...... the firmware update is to take care of the 1st batch of customers. No prob... :)

hi everyone!
got myself a k700i yesterday. a vast improvement from my earlier t630, which is also excellent.
straight to the point. after finishing talking via the bt headset (hbh-600), the phone still has the headset symbol on the screen, the headset can't be turned off and i can't get the connection disconnected without going thru the menu and get it disconnected manually. meaning what? if i just leave it like that, the connection will be forever and imagine what this will do to the already-badly-reviewed battery consumption.
is it just me or is there actually a simpler way to do this.

tx commede, that's a relief. well, after 3 days...the battery life seems to get better...a bit.
another thing, can anyone help me to set up the e-mail account in the messaging menu? the manual is not of much help. i'm using maxis and in m'sia.
