Hi guys.

I'd like to know how much people have been paying for their S700i's. I'm talking about brand new ones, and not imported ones from HK as they get no warranty here in Australia from Sony Ericsson so I'm not prepared to buy one like that.
So if anyone from Australia could tell me how much they've paid for their S700i I'd appreciate it. Also if you're from another country I'd still like to know but could you please include the currency and country you're in so I can check out the exchange rates?
Oh yeah, and where did you buy them from too? ;)

Thanks!

PS, if anyone's interested, Telstra is saying RRP on it will be AU$1499.00 which is way too high! I also know that the COST price from one of telstra's suppliers is AU$990.00 including GST.

I don't think it is out in Australia yet. Anyways, I was told $1269 from an Optus dealer and like 1200 from Newtech - i think it is a Telstra dealer. Both prices are ridiculous in my opinion

Hi,

Yes it's a gamble importing from HK, Singapore etc., but the savings are there and I know quite a few who have bought from O/S with no problems.

I've recently bought one on eBay.com.au for A$765. The risk for me now is customs duties and GST, but I was prepared to take the risk.

Best price I found in OZ was A$1080 from my mobile carrier, but had to wait at least 3 weeks.

No, it's not been released here in australia yet officially.

And Aussieland, I agree with you that 1200 is a lot to pay, when you are working with a cost price of AU$992.50 (that price was from a telstra supplier and I also got a friends from vodafone to check and it was the same), it's pretty hard to get the price under $1200 yet still have a workable retail margin. I know this beacuse I work in a Telstra shop. I wanted to know if anyone had managed to find on and the prices they may have found.

I was quoted with $1100 by a vodafone shop for an unbranded one. I don't know , i understand that the cost is high but it just seems like a lot to pay for a phone. I am curious about the reception and also i read that the phone can be pretty slow at times.....

It sure is very expensive in Australia. Well, a lot of things are expensive in Oz come to think of it. It's about US$670 here, with 1-year local SE warranty, not international.
