im getting the 6630 when it arrives anyday now. so i would like to know whats everyone experience with 3G and EDGE. i know that 6630 offeres video conferencing only with the stand, but still i would like to know about it, smooth framerate? good sound? battery consumption?

also, my operator runs 3G on 1900, is that the standard? any advantages or dissadvantages?

thanks! :)

i have 3 3G phones (nokia 7600, nec 313 and motorola a925) on 3-UK.

video calling is a bit of a disappointment as it's out of sync, quite choppy and the sound isn't as clear as voice calls. it's also expensive (10 times more than voice calls) but this would most likely vary from network to network. 3 have "walled garden" internet access - ie you can't browse outside their own services domain which is ridiculous. it wouldn't be so bad if the services were of any use but they are limited and expensive (£2.50 to download a ringtone etc) and i can't really tell the difference in speed between standard gprs on my 7610 but again this will differ on different networks most likely.

you can't see a difference between 3G and 7610 GPRS?

something is not right here.

anyways, i mainly want 3G to browse the net, send large email attachements and so on on my 6630.

i too will get 6630 as well, n m not going to use it for video conferencing on 3G, coz they dont have 3G! hahaha, well even if 3G is offered today, i wont take it, not with that price, best to wait a year or 2 for vid-con, after everything has been ironed out... i wont be an early adapter of vid-con, 3G data is a different story though...

Francisofarabaria, and you just summarized what most people will do. :) And why Nokia is not in a hurry to introduce a lot of dual phone cameras. Btw, their new Media Charger application seems like the most sensible 3G solution for networks I've seen so far (I guess it could be used in 2.5G networks as well, not sure though).

Shortly that is a service provider application to send user requested media files to users phone when there isn't much use in network (night time etc). It adds the possibility to get cheaper downloads for videos, so if you want news video in the morning to watch that in the train you can allow phone to download it night-time cheaper.
