Michael / Sid,
You both must be pretty busy and haven't had a chance to update the "review comments" forum section yet - but there is something I noticed with the S700 review that I wanted to comment on and I'll get started with it here:
In the S700 review, you mention the following:
The change I do not like, however, is that you can not move through the possible selections with the keypad, you must use the d-pad. I find using the S700's d-pad better than being forced to use the K700i's joystick, probably owing much to the large size of the d-pad, but I would still rather be able to cycle through the suggestions using the '*' key.
This isn't an entierly new development. I think that the change in T9 requireing the user to choose among suggested words using the joystick has been present since the T610, and it seemed to be the case as well with the z600's that I've played with.
I imagine that the larger keypad and travel distance from the keypad to the D-pad on the S700 makes it a bit more noticable, however.
I'd prefer being able to handle all texting functions with the keypad exclusively, but it's a quirk that I can live with.
Is it possible that SE added this "feature" as a way to intentionally slow texters down as sometimes (according to really fast texters) their UI can lag a bit?
