Is Push To Talk hardware or software based?

Also ... you need a Service Provider which supports PTT, right?

Its software based, but it uses a server in the network, to co-ordinate the Push-to-talk server. One could probably put a PTT server on the Internet and use that, but the only problem would be finding such a server ...

Alright ... so that means, we can just install a PTT program on a 7610, and *wait* for a server to be set up ... right?

Ok, kewl. Thanks for that information.

Now that the 6260 has been released, is it possible to extract the PTT software?
Or has the PTT software been released somewhere already?

Curious ...

I really do doubt that, it looks preety ingrained, thus its files might be well spread out across the system. But you could always try.

I'm sure a .sis version would be released soon.
