I am intrested in unlocking samsung phones.
Does the phone have to have a sim inside 1st or without the sim?
and do you know any other codes for other Samsung phones?

This is very useful to me.

Entering this code should do it:

*2767*688#

Remove the sim card, switch the phone on and enter the code. This is apparently the only way to remote unlock a Samsung E700 without cables. And it worked on my T-Mobile UK E700 first time no problems.

I've heard it's a different code and I'm not sure what it is (in fact I'm not sure anyone knows what it is yet).

I have used the above code to unlock E700 many times - it works a treat... only thing is I have one which won't work with the code, when you hit the # key it sould reboot... although this one does nothing it just has the code in the screen. When I put a foreign sim into it it asks for Network nlock Code..... Any one got any ideas - do I need other software and a cable???

HELP!

I have a full reset code I will give you when I get back to my desktop, it obliterates everything on the phone so back it up first. But if this doesn't do it then I reckon your only option is a cable.

Thankyou for all those codes. Have tried them - the handset does a full E2P reset yet it still says Network lock, Enter password -which I think is 8 digits long, it's on Orange (UK)..... don't suppose you have any other ideas......???! I get the feeling there is something wrong with the handset....

DEViANT

8-digit code? It's your SIM card is locked and you'll need the PUK code, it's the not the phone I'd say. Motorola's are the ones which request codes to open the network lock, not Samsungs.

fonebox
03-08-2004, 07:49 AM
Definatley NOT the sim have tried about 5 different ones in and they all work in other fones too... Am getting the customer to get a replacement so will unlock that one instead. Thanx 4 ur help tho.

DEViANT
03-08-2004, 08:02 AM
Ok, try entering the 'network code' as 00000000 (that's 8 zeroes). Now that I think of it when you query the current network lock level on the Samsung it gives an 8-digit number (the MCC-MNC/provider code - for my T-Mobile UK one it was 23433000, I think). Eight zeroes should give complete unlock - try that - it might just want you to enter a code to save as the network lock. As I haven't seen it before, it's hard to say but I think this is what it is asking for.

I just bought a samsung e700 and of course it was locked so i browed through a couple of forums and found the clasic *2767*688#

but this didnt work for for me as it was asking me to enter a network lock which asked for a sim card

so i logged onto www.gsmlocker.com and had the worst service i could imagine
they asked me for my imei and sp code which led me to beleive like nokia they had a genarator to unlock the phone

after waiting almost 2 day(they garantied the code in less then 24 hours) for a reply this is what they sent me
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Follow these steps

SAMSUNG
Samsung Remote Unlock Instructions:-
1. Switch OFF your phone.
2. Put in a SIM of a different network provider.
3. Now turn your phone back on. You will see an error message saying
"Wrong Card".
4. Type *#9998*3323# in to your phone.
5. If you've entered the code correctly as outlined in the Step 4, you
shall see a screen telling you to press exit. So hit the right soft key.
6. Now you will see a Menu of choices. Scroll down and select option 7
(“Jump to Null”). As soon as you select option 7, your phone will turn
black and reboot itself. After your phone reboots, the SIM will be
recognized and your SIM will work. (Please be patient while your phone
reboots and DO NOT press any keys.)
7. Now, at your welcome screen type in *0141# and hit your call button!
This will give you a message saying your phone is Personalized.
8. Power OFF your phone and insert your original SIM.
9. Once done, power ON your phone.
10. At the SIM Code prompt, it will ask you to enter a password. Type
00000000, (that is 8 Zero's). After you enter the code, hit "ok" and
your phone should power up.
Your phone is unlocked!!!
You can now put the SIM of your choice into the phone and use it at your
will! Without ANY RESTRICTION!!!

so i tried this method but by step 3 the intructions were wrong
as it didnt say wrong card

obioulsy i was quite upset, i had just payed $15 for this service so i sent in a complaint. no reply. I then recived a missed call from them because they wanted to confirm something, so i had there phone number. i rang customer services and i eventualy got on to a indian man called "chris" i explained my problem to chris and he said that it was software and that he would send me out the new code today 2 days later

i receiced this email
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Type *#06# on your phone and write down your IMEI (you'll need it
later) or get it from the back of your phone.
2. Put a simcard from another provider and power on your phone
3. At the "wrong card" message type: *2767*688YOURIMEI, for
example: *2767*68835363900065487#
(imei is 14 digits ignore the 3 digits after the slash "/")
4. Your phone will reboot and then your simcard from other provider will
work

--this 4 steps is for a temporary unlocking, when you power of your
phone
it'll be locked again, to permanently unlock it continue to step 5--
5. After your phone has rebooted on step 4, dont press any key or do
anything,
just type this: *0141# and hit the send button
6. A message will appear telling you that your phone is personalized
7. Shut off the phone and enter the SIM of yet another carrier.
8. At the "Enter SIM lock password" screen, enter eight zeros as in
00000000.
9. YOUR PHONE IS NOW UNLOCKED
---------------------------------------------------------------------------this is once again the same problem once i got to step 3 i could go no further

so naturaly i rang chris again and explained that this was not the service i payed, i also explained to him that the service i payed for was a sp password gen and that i would like a refund.

this is the shocking bit, he told me to "**** off " and told me that he had helped me so i owe him the money, even though he did not provide the service that i payed for.

well firstly all the info i gave im sure will unlock some phones i think the e715 will get unlocked using the second code but mine is still locked to the network so i just borowed a data link cable from a friend and unlocked mine

but the real moral of the story is stay away from all those websites that claim to be able to unlock your phone if you have tryed the above methods

and most importantly .

STAY AWAY FROM WWW.GSMLOCKER.COM

they provide the worst info ever and if you are reading this and would like to inlock your phone email me on samsun1 @ jamescoady.com and i will do my very best to help you out

Oh yeah if you ordered something from WWW.GSMLOCKER.COM and you want to complain about them here is this guy chris, who claims to own the site, number 001 2024365552

if any of you wish to ring him up at 4 o clock in the morning i wouldnt have any objections.

Fair play to you, I don't think anyone should pay for unlocking so I say screw www.gsmlocker.com over as much as possible. Let us know how it goes - but hey, at least your phone is unlocked now.

the only way of unlocking the new phones is buy using the

you can buy it cheap on ebay something like

In general, you shouldn't pay for unlocking as it encourages people to charge for it. If you are receiving hardware, then fair enough, but as it stands with software, wait long enough and it will become freely available.

Do you think it's appropriate posting this in a Samsung forum?

It sounds like a network unlock code it needs and no-one here can generate them. It sounds like something you will have to pay for. The other possibility is that you have PIN locked the SIM so try another one in there.

Free unlock from ebay (http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQgotopageZ1QQsassZitsfreeukQQsorecordsperpageZ 50QQsosortorderZ1QQsosortpropertyZ1)

Works on the E700, D500 and X600 (so he says) but after seeing the thread with the same code then I guess this would work. Just waiting to see if someone with a D500 uses the code and it works before I use it on mine when it comes. Bye Bye

Got a few PMs asking how to unlock the E700

This is very easy and all you need to do is read the first page of this thread, but just for those of us that didn't get it first time...

If you put in an unsupported or "locked out" SIM the E700 will ask you for a network password. If you put in the wrong password it will say wrong password 10 tries left and so on.

Mobile networks don't give out these passwords, so you need to unlock the phone. Here's how.

Samsung E700 Unlock Instructions:

TURN OFF THE PHONE

REMOVE SIM CARD

TURN ON THE PHONE

WAIT 30 SECONDS

ENTER THE CODE: *2767*688#

WAIT 30 SECONDS - After you press the # key the phone should say ID RESET and then reboot itself

PUT SIM CARD BACK IN

FINISHED! Now when you turn on the phone all should be sweet.

*2767*688# does nothing.

I've bought a supposedly unlocked Samsung e700 off ebay and when I turn it on it says Network Lock and asks me to enter password. The phone came in an Orange box, and my SIM is a T-Mobile Pay Monthly, which I've used successfully in other phones.

I googled the problem and I've tried what I've found on forums, such as all 0s, and certain unlock codes, although when I've tried taking the SIM out and turning the phone back on to put a code in, the screen just asks me to insert SIM.

Please help? The phone was a birthday present and it's putting a bit of a damper on things... :(

Unlock Code for Samsung E700 on Orange subscription. Turn off phone, remove Sim, power up, then enter:

#*7337#

Phone does a reset and goes blank then powers back up. Turn off, put in new Sim and power back up. All should be ok.

The following was posted, but did not work on my phone but may work with phone on other networks (Strange though, maybe S/N related but no idea)

TURN OFF THE PHONE

Ive got a Samsung SGH-E700 new model, currently on orange but needs to work with vodafone.
*2767*688# does nothing.
#*7337# appears to reset it but still wont allow the new sim to work.

Any ideas? Should i buy a cable? If so what should i do with it?

Same problem here...
I bought my phone on eBay and it actually worked for quite some time untill I got a message "Limited service" some days ago. I did some search on different forums and sites and it looks like my phone is reported stolen :(
Is there any chance to get it working or did I wasted money on nothing?

Unlocking a stolen phone is illegal. It is a criminal offence, punishable by very large fines and time in jail.

Yes you have wasted your money.

Give it to the police, maybe they can trace the original owner. Maybe the original owner will give you reward money for finding it.

What does it do? If it says 'insert SIM' then it's probably a broken sim card. Test it with another sim card from somewhere. It might also be a USIM, which the E700 won't accept.
