6260 mp3 woes

Is the mono mp3 playback due to the software limitation or hardware limitation. If it is software can I download a new mp3 player for the phone with stereo capability? :(

i was really expecting more of the phone..
in singapore the pre-order price was S$780 and now after 5 days its S$700!!!

I've read somewhere here in mobileburn that the chip which plays radio is stereo capable while the chip that plays mp3's is only mono (16khz not 44khz). Does that make it a hardware problem?

YES it is a hardware issue...

6260, i supposed most nokia phones that has an FM radio, has a separate chip-> an FM radio chip, similar to those being used for small headset pendant FM radio with button cell batteries, this produces STEREO output that goes to the headset

whereas, to play MP3 it has to go through the main CPU, which unfortunately can not produce STEREO output... only MONOkia

i heard that their designer ran out of ideas so they are hiring 6yr olds to see what they can come up with..
so dont be too suprised if the next nokia comes with a built in lollipop holder..

6260, expected it to be something that gives you the 'WOW' factor of 7610. Ended up something like the 3660..... queit.... bla bla bla and still MONOKIA (good term fransisco!!) ****, Nokia thought we were born with one ear and the other was so busy with a bluetooth headset that we only listens MP3s with one ear?>? SUCKS TO THE MAX

Yeah i think the 6630 will be the redeemer phone for nokia, and finally it has a Stereo chip in it!!!
