Okay, so here's the deal.

My contract is due to come up for upgrade on 17th of November. I've contacted my contract team and got the list of handsets I can get - I've narrowed it down to the top four; let me know what you guys think.

Nokia 3650 - FREE
--------
Good because: Java, Bluetooth, expandable memory, Symbian
Bad because: Design, 4k colour screen, size

Samsung E700 - £129.99
--------
Good because: Java, big memory (9mb), flip design
Bad because: Battery strength, sms problems, no Bluetooth

Motorola V600 - £129.99
--------
Good because: Java, Bluetooth, flip design
Bad because: Smallish memory (3mb), possible SMS/UI flaws (I hated the t720i and this could be in the same vein)

SonyEricsson Z600 - FREE
--------
Good because: Java, Mofun, Bluetooth, flip design
Bad because: TINY memory, small front screen (may or may not be a negative, I'm used to my V200 big screen)

So they are my four choices...I'd welcome any opinions/user experiences you guys have had with these phones.

I've got two weeks to decide...counting down...

I would have to say the best is the V600. Motorola have really improved their UI over the last couple of years, and it's now quite easy to use. I used to hate their UI too (remember the V3688+???), but the T720 was alright, and the E series phones have been decent too.

The E700 is good, but if you want that type of phone (no BT, good screen etc) then you should have a look at the GX-20/22. It has easily the best screen I've seen in a phone, and the external colour screen is handy too.

If you want a smartphone, then the 3650 is alright, but if you can wait a month or 2 you should be able to afford a P800, which is far better.

PS. let me know if you want to add other phones to the poll. :)

V600 has 6-8 megs of user memory. That is a fact!
Meny system is much faster and easier in V600!

V600 is not flip phone, its clamshell.:)
Flip phone is like CD930 or Ericsson T28

I take V600!
Best looking clamshell ever and specs are great.

Hmm, I think I must have misunderstood GSMArena (or they got it wrong) as they state 3mb for Java (presumably the other 2 is for other things).

The V600 is really the phone I want. I didn't actually use the t720i but have heard many horror stories from customers - these must not be indicitive of most peoples experiences with the phones.

I think if MBs review doesn't find any major problems then I'll end up getting it.

PS. Flip, clamshell, same kinda thing :-D
