Hi,
Over the last few months, the keys my the 7610 have been playing up a bit. Keys like: 3, 6, 9, *, and the 'call' key have to be pressed quite hard to make that function work. If I take the keypad off and 'massage' the pad underneath a bit, it makes the keys works a bit better. It's annoying, especially when i'm typing a message, because they words come out all wrong (with letters missing.) Has anyone else had similiar problems?

you just can take it to a service center so they can adjust the keys layout... ;)

This happened to my sister's 6610.

She tends to drop her phone sometimes. The phone sometimes gets twirled, hurled, spun....you get the picture.

Now the phone's so full of scratches she had to change the faceplate.

She takes better care of her phone now (less dropping, twirling, spinning etc.). The phone doesn't act up as much anymore.

I'm not implying you don't take good care of your phone because I don't know you that well. I'm just saying things like this can happen if the phone is twirled, hurled, dropped, spun, thrown in the air, etc.

If when you bought the phone it already had those problems, then it wasn't your fault. If the phone's under warranty, send it to your dealer.

Yes I have droppped the phone a few times. Maybe this causes a mis-alignment with the keys and the actual key buttons on the phone. Because if I take the key pad off and press the little white buttons on the phone, the functions work fine.

@kris7610:
Dude, here's some unsolicited but well meant advice: buy a phone holder/pouch/carrying kit/container or anything that can actually cover your $550 US 7610 to help protect the phone and so that there's something other than the phone that will absorb the impact once it gets accidentally dropped. It does not need to be expensive, just something made of durable material that can cover your phone.

To be honest, I've never dropped my 7610 and usually keep it inside a foam lined carrying pouch. It's $550 US! I'm not going to let anything happen to it as $550 doesn't fall from the sky.

All mobile phones were never meant to be dropped, spun, soaked or jettisoned into the air. Yes we like them a lot but they aren't toys, they're actually expensive pieces of technology.

Also, go to a reputable Nokia Care center to have your phone fixed. It's ok to spend a little extra, all for the sake of your mobile investment.

Good luck.
