Whats wrong with the GX30? Its too damn good. Mine has been stolen while I was in a club, along with the £80 memory card that was inside, the £20 payg credit and a lot of priceless photos. DAMN THEIVES.

I've now got a Nokia 3220. Its all I can afford and not a bad phone :(

Yes, Bluetooth is the problem GX30 owners complain about more than anything else, but I think it's a lot better in the upcoming Sharp GX30i. I think a close second downer is the fairly horrible Vodafone menu scheme the GX30s come with. And I think thirdly is that the GX30 is locked to the Vodafone network, but you can always hunt down an imported GX32 instead.

Other than that, it's a good phone, with the best screen of any clamshell I can think of, a decent digital camera and some nice features, and the GX30i comes with some software improvements too.

Yes there is, I have one right now.

PS - You can get one for NT$14000 now, that price is at launch. You obviously didn't even bother a simple web search before trying to spread disinformation. You could have atleast checked Sharp's website.

Yes, a GX31 exists. No, it can't do Bluetooth file transfer, because it doesn't support the OBEX client/server profiles. Nor do any of the GX3x series. The Bluetooth chip itself is only able to connect a headset to the phone (ie hardware support is only for the handsfree and headset profiles).

It is not an operator restriction (ie it's not Vodafone's fault). It's Sharp's fault for not using a proper Bluetooth implementation in the GX3x series.

Anyway, other Sharp phones such as the GX15, GX25, GX30i, 802 and 902 have/will have full Bluetooth support.

It was Vodafone's fault. Sharp gave them the option of having full blue-tooth or a cut-down version. Vodafone chose the cut-down version because it meant the phone could be launched much sooner (and was presumably cheaper too).

the bluethooth restrictions are down to vodaphone,s instructions to Sharp instructing them of what bluethooth stack should be install, I have mention this before on another forums the way around this problem is to either reverse the engineering or to edit the flash file on the gx30 and replace it with the bluetooth stack out of the gx15 which does not have bluetooth restrictions I have already posted the gx30 flash & software + engineer,s manual on another forum for the gx30 members to download. you will need a serial cable to carried this work and flash the edited file to your gx30 " Thats a serial cable NOT usb/serial cable" cheers all ;)
