Well atlast i had a chance to use Nokia's first 3G Phone.. i used the phone for 30 mins! In that 30 mins, i spoke to the Nokia Executive and clarified my all my doubts! I am going to post a small review on the phone!!
The 1.3 MegaPixel Camera is good! Pics are a lot better than 7610. The pics were very clear and crisp! I sent one pic to my PC and i must say they pic was awesome (even on the computer screen it looked splendid).
Digital zoom (6x) is better compared to the Digital zoom of 7610!
What i was worried the most was about the looks of the phone.. i must say it looks far better than what i imagined it to be! The phone doesnt look as good as 7610 but looks much better than 3650, 3660 or for that matter even 6600!
Now the major difference, EDGE yes you read it right it is EDGE! Hutch in India has come out with EDGE technology recently! So i had a chance to watch a Cricket Match on the phone through EDGE (i didnt get a chance to browse) I earlier had watched a cricket match on 6230 (i think) but 6230 had a small screen so i didnt like it very much! But watching the match on 6630 was a awesome experience.. while watching the match (yes on the phone) it was very smooth it did not stop in between (just like a TV) but the clarity was about 70% to that of the TV, but that is good enough!
The Keypad was good and easy to get used to. The Display was brighter than 7610. I would have preferred a Joystick instead of a D-pad but the D-pad is brilliant and very accurate! But i did not find auto key lock facilty (you still need to use a 3rd party app for that). I did not know that 6630 was going to have a Hot-Swappable RS-MMC slot, but it did have one! that is a welcome change from Nokia!
One of the major complaints of 7610 was that the 7610 did not have stereo output! But 6630 has got stereo output and the mp3z are a treat to listen to! It has got 48 voice polyphonic sound!
Video Recording is stricly OK, no major changes the quality is still the same (a bit better than 7610 though) but you can record upto 1 hour of video with sound of course!
6630 has got 9.9 MB of internal memory. And the phone comes with 64 Mb Rs-MMC Card!
Sms, calender, call log app everything is the same from the older Nokia series 60 smartphones! Although Call Log is unlimited now! you can set it as auto clear of 5 days etc (default is 1 month)
Bluetooth is the same (although i didnt have time to talk to the executive in detail about it) i even used the Nokia Bluetooth Keyboard, its good and easy to use but the price is a bit high for most people (especially me).
The voice clarity is very good, the speakerphone is brilliant!
The interesting thing what they did was they charged two 6630 phones completely and then called from one phone to the other and kept it ON. One phone got switched off after 4 hrs 02 mins.. Thats quite good! Nokia.com says the phones talktime is upto 3 Hrs!
I was able to use the e-mail system very easily, although there were not many changes from 7610!
Each MMS Message can be as huge as 300kb! 7610 only supported upto 100kb for each MMS!
Messaging systems (T9) is very fast!
There is no Radio and infrared! All phones have something against it for sure!
Now the price, the starting price of 6630 is going to be around Rs 31000 (7610 started out with a price of Rs 27000 i.e USD 575) i.e USD 660! Maybe a bit high!
All in all a must buy for every Nokia lover and for others too! UI is brilliant, MP Cam is good, the phone has got Stereo output, Great 65K TFT Screen (display) it has got everything that you would need in a phone! I must say 6630 is going to be one of my favorites!
Thank you
Ashok :)

Great little review. But still has not convinced me to wait and buy it.
I will be waiting to see what Nokia has up their sleeve with the next couple of 3G phones that come out.
3G has only just launched here in South Africa. So it will still take a while for 3G to full take off and become mainstream, and of course we don't have any 3G phones available to purchase on the market as yet.

see Nokia 6630 is not only a 3G phone but also a GSM phone! So why worry! you can put a normal sim card in your phone and use it! Well if you are going to wait for the next two 3G High end Phones it is going to take another 1 year of wait! i dont think nokia will release the successor of 6630 before june next year!! 9 to 10 months wait hmmm not for me! i am more than happy with 6630 for now!!

mmm.... from what I hear, EDGE is also being tested and tried out by the other GSM providers in Asia. I think even in the US, they're trying it out too...
maybe it's going to be the next best thing? I think it will eventually replace GPRS.
nice to know that the 6630 has that and it works.
cheers!

somebody already mentioned that the menu is "instant", fast like a series 40, could you confirm?

I'm still worried about size. I wanted the 6260 to have a megapixel camera lol XD
Think I'll stick with the 7610 and wait for a few phones to pass ...
nice review.. but isnt the 6630 the second 3G phone from nokia.. first was the 7600.. right?
Third, the first was the 6650.

7600 only had 3G speeds, correct? No actual video-calling?
Well ... the 6630 can only make video-calls with that Stand. Don't reply saying "oh, you can twist the phone around" ... cause I'll say "how do you view the screen and see the other person's face?" ^^
After hearing toocool's little review, my opinion of the 6630 has changed a little. But for me, its not worth upgrading from 7610 to 6630. Yet ...
francisofarabia
10-10-2004, 03:18 AM
well, for those who already have 6600, 6620, 7610 or will get the 6260, definitely the 6630 is not such a big upgrade... it is the same as if you already own a P900, you will probably bypass the P910, but if you are a 6230 owner, among others and have been waiting for that Series 60 that will have a menu that is as fast as the 6230, then the 6630 could be IT... well, im crossing my fingers and m looking forward to test drive the 6630 by december...

When I first saw the 6630, I was wondering if it was really a 3G phone, as the camera is on the back and you can't turn it around like other 3G phones.
Then I saw that stand that you have to attatch to the phone. It seems a bit bulky to carry that around with you.
If I was out and about, I wouldn't be carrying the stand with me. So in the end I would never be using video conferencing, but only to view.
Does anyone know if that stand comes standard with the 6630 box? Or do you have to buy the stand seperately?
:L:
Toocool
10-10-2004, 06:07 AM
I think you have to but the stand!
There are no huge changes from 6600, 6620, 7610 i agree! but has there been many differences between 3660 and 7610, or for that matter first symbian phone 7650 and 7610 everything is the same, except that 7650 doesnt have a mmc slot, right then why did you people buy all those phone after 3660? some people have bought 7650, 3650, 3660, 6600 and then 7610 why did they buy it? they wanted something new and some improvements! if you compare the difference between 3660 and 6600, between 6600 and 7610 and between 7610 and 6630.. the most difference (upgrades) that you will find will be between 7610 and 6630! believe me people the Digital zoom is better, the phone is a lot faster, it doesnt feel very light to hold but neither did the 7610 nor the bulky 6600 so? Yes the phone is as fast as a series 40 phones! instant not like the 6600! 7610 was a lot better! Come december 7610 is gonna be history for me i am going with the cool 6630 for sure!

If i had all the money in the world id buy this phone. But if i had all the money in the world id also buy a moto phone and thats saying something cos i hate moto.
as many of u have said, its a nice little phone but its upgrades arent worth it coming from 7610. Id buy 6260 over this. was going to but i like havin the mega pix cam.
I didnt buy 7610 coming from 6600 cos it was nu...i bought it cos it had good review (michael loved this phone) and it looks great. Good idea to stick with current phones as at the moment, advances in technology are just beggining to rocket, eg, "N"mps cams, stereo 3d sound, qvga 262k screens, no point getting one thats already lagging behind other "old" phones.

MMS at 300KB is cool, but i think it's also restricted from the service provider right? or am i wrong?
also, i'm very curiouse to know how the 6630 performs while on 3G, and is 3G always on as in broadband, or do you have to connect and stuff?
one of my main complaints about Nokia in general is the 176x208 screen, a cool phone like the 6630 deserves a bigger screen with a 262K display! i own a Sony Ericsson S700 and P910 and i could never ever go back to a 176x208 screen. I hope Nokia catches up soon!

Third, the first was the 6650.
thats right i agree, the first was the 6650> 2nd 7600> 3rd the 6630.
The 6630 is the first series 60 fone with 3rd generation.
anywayz the little review was pretty nice....... ;)

10-13-2004, 04:30 AM

I think i've heard MMS size is limited by the service provider, but currently i dont think any phones support more than 100k per mms anyway, hopefully this will change soon, also it would be nice to be able to send other things with videos, like photos or sounds as well.
The connection can be always on with 3G just like GSM GPRS, that's the way i have it on my 7600, i assume it'll be the same on the 6630. That way there's no waiting when you want to connect!
Ruler_70

Yeah at this point operators retrsic mms size to max 100KB. I think with the speeds 3G is going to introduce it wont be a prob to send bigger mms's

how do you leave GPRS on all the time? does it use up more battery and charge up more on your phone bill?

Marwan: Some networks have unlimited GPRS plans, where you pay a monthly subscription and then you have unlimited GPRS usage.

Ruler_70, do you know if South Africa's MTN or Cell-C have unlimited GPRS?
Now that Vodacom is bringing 3G to South Africa, I hope that standard GSM call costs and GPRS rates go down in price.
:L:

If a GPRS connection is idle, there is no data transmission as long as the phone doesn't switch between cells (which, however, seems to happen quite regularly even if you don't move). Since you pay for the transmitted amount of data, an idle GPRS connection does not produce costs (as I said, except when the phone switches between cells). I don't know whether battery life is affected by an idle GPRS, but I guess that it is affected.

i see! my providers charges a flat monthly fee, plus bytes uploaded and downloaded. so i guess if it's idle it won't charge, right?

that is true, but many service providers are opting for the EDGE, since it gives them flexibility, plus it gives them a step-by-step upgrade to 3G, well, bottom line is the cost...

Marwan, an always on GPRS connection doesnt cost anything, regardless of how many base stations your phone changes to. All it means is that when you want to use wap, MMS, email etc you dont have to wait for your phone to find a GPRS connection, its already there. On Nokia's a standby GPRS connection is shown by a G on the main screen, when its connected the G has a box around it, that's when charges may apply. I've been using my phone with GPRS always on since March this year and it doesnt cost anything until you connect, after that it depends on your operator's arrangements whether to charge for browsing or just downloading.

well, unfortunately HDW-2 and HDW-3 are very much identical to each other, only the color and the hooks are different and yes both tend to be uncomfortable after a while since, both are heavy...
BT 1.2 paired with a phone that is also BT 1.2 compliant will give you better and faste connection, more immunity to interference, and elliminate the popping or cracking sound on headsets... this is one of the reason i like to have the 6630 + BT HS with 1.2

Hey guys sorry i couldnt post as i was busy playing with my new phone! Great Phone i have to say! i will create a new thread and write about my experiences with the phone! For those people who want the phone i have to say i am SORRY! Actually the phone was available in Burma Bazar in Mumbai! As the people of mumbai might be knowing it there are many shops in Burma Bazar! The goods available there are usually smuggled ones! The shop i got the phone from had Fifty 6630s!! There is NO warranty for the phone! You have to buy the phone at your own risk! Mine is very goood i used it for nearly 3 days now! The only thing that i wasnt impressed about was the Battery! I charged 3 times everyday! But i played around with the phone a lot too! BUT THE SAD THING IS THAT THERE WAS NEWS THAT NOKIA 6630 IS NOT GOING TO BE OFFICIALLY SOLD (RELEASED) IN INDIA!! Sad but true, i think! Nokia Prority Dealer told me that!! More in my review i will put it up after a day or 2!! You can call, message me at +919886764818 for more about that phone!! Thank you
jayesh

yeah it is going to be sold. i checked with compulink ( marine drive ) they got the documents for it already. Only thing they were not sure is when and how it will appear. I also checked with a fellow consultant i know over in orange and they are going to pick it up soon. They have just launched edge and want to introduce it to compete against the airtel live system ( 6220 +portal ) . If u check their website ( www.orange.co.in) its listed as coming and as compatible. it will probably appear with them soon as a branded orange phone like the airtel 6220 affair
On a different tac....
gathering from your no that is a hutch no in bangalore..... and burma bazaar also in bangalore... so why have u said mumbai?!?!?! care to mend your story a bit ??

MMS at 300KB is cool, but i think it's also restricted from the service provider right? or am i wrong?
also, i'm very curiouse to know how the 6630 performs while on 3G, and is 3G always on as in broadband, or do you have to connect and stuff?
I think i've heard MMS size is limited by the service provider, but currently i dont think any phones support more than 100k per mms anyway, hopefully this will change soon, also it would be nice to be able to send other things with videos, like photos or sounds as well.
The connection can be always on with 3G just like GSM GPRS, that's the way i have it on my 7600, i assume it'll be the same on the 6630. That way there's no waiting when you want to connect!
It's not restricted. here in holland you can send a 300 kb mms but you have to pay more. 0.25 euro for 100 kb

I don't get it. the most of you who buy this 6630 buy it because it is a 3G phone right? And that's a very good reason because 3G is the future. But did you ever think about that this phone hasn't got a second camera for video calls? What about that? I don't know what you guy's think about video calling but i think it's pretty darn cool.
I can make free video calls till february :D Maby that's why i have this opinion. But in my opinion you can better buy a phone that is compatible with all 3G services so you don't have to upgrade if everybody is making video calls in the future.
But the phone is very cool indeed. If it only hadthat camera.
i am thinking of a sharp 902 but i can't live without that symbian os :)
Kind regards
Michael

I agree that it is no good for video calls, but if your thing is 3G data, then you're fine with the 6630.

I don't get it. the most of you who buy this 6630 buy it because it is a 3G phone right?
actually no, as michael already pointed 3G data is 1 reason,
2) fast CPU,
3) fast Symbian OS (well hopefully, since it got fast cpu)
4) 1st S60 that supports handsfree and headset profile with BT 1.2
5) Stereo MP3
6) 1.3 megapix cam
and if i may add, i dont see the immediate availability of video calls on a very broad scope, it will be available on some places, but the cost will be prohibitive, so basically the 6630 is an interim device for 3G, by a year or 2, when video call has matured, i will be ready to change my 6630 for the next 6630 or its upgrade...

yeah it is going to be sold. i checked with compulink ( marine drive ) they got the documents for it already. Only thing they were not sure is when and how it will appear. I also checked with a fellow consultant i know over in orange and they are going to pick it up soon. They have just launched edge and want to introduce it to compete against the airtel live system ( 6220 +portal ) . If u check their website ( www.orange.co.in) its listed as coming and as compatible. it will probably appear with them soon as a branded orange phone like the airtel 6220 affair

there are certain people around the world who get the mobiles, from the respective companies, for testing and stuff....review purposes...bengal boy, howardforum guy, eldar (from mobile-review).... since they're moderators/owners of reputed websites. its not that it is being shipped to russia before elsewhere, jus to some people to give out reviews. given by companies. like the person on here was given a SE tour, california ??
its complementary, i think. not release.

I'm puzzled, and confused at this paragraph from Gsmarena.com on the 6630:
"Previous Nokia models 7610 and 6670 offered "only" a megapixel resolution. The new 6630 camera phone is equipped with 1.33 MP sensor. The effective picture resolution is a bit lower - 1.23 MP, the highest picture format is 1280 x 960 pixels."
What's all this sensors and effective resolutions? Can someone explain?
a2k24
11-20-2004, 10:52 PM
resolution is the max resolution of a pic that can b take nby a cam....6630 can take 1280 x 960 (pixels) = 1228800 whi is 1.23 mega (million) pixels. so i think in cam technology they approximate it to a standard release as 1.3 mpx. like a car is said to be....say 2000 cc, but the actual displacement is say 1941 cc or 1950 or anything, which they say 2000cc approx. i think its the same way for cams.

Dear mk2u, SublimeAnarki and others who have got a doubt
Look guys i dont have to prove to anyone whether i have really got the phone or not! If you are so interested i will give you my house address you people can come here, see the phone, take photos of it, you can review the phone and do what you want! See i am working in a call center and neither do i have the time nor the patience to take the photos (i dont even have a digital camera) upload it to my computer and post it on this site! Michael posts his reviews on this website do you people go and ask him where he got the phone from?
This site (forum) is just for dicussing about phones and share information not for proving something! Replying to your messages, i wont! My sms charges are too high! I got 3 calls to this date (including one from Sublimeanarki aka Akshay i guess) i talked to him for about 10 mins told him everything about the phone! And just now i got a call from someone else, i even talked to him and told him about the phone! I am just doing this because i too love phone and if someone else has a phone i love i would like to talk to that person about the phone! So i thought i will post my Phone no! Does it mean that if i dont reply back i dont have the phone! If you people think that i dont have the phone so be it! i am not bothered! If anyone wants any information you have to call me! i cant call you or message you! I dont understand why am i supposed to prove that i have got the phone.. if i prove i have the phone does that make a difference to you! Burma Bazar is there in Bangalore but there are about 10 or more Burma Bazars in Mumbai!
That sublimeanarki sent this message today which says:-
"i think you've got a authenticity issue going on for you mate... why dont you just post those pics of your phone so that ppl shut up ?
its not doing your rep any good this.."
What is your problem mate?? Why should i post pics of the phone just to make people shut up?? Dogs bark so let them bark! If i post pics of the phone then they will say that they are fake i pulled it from somewhere on the net! Why others you will tell me "why dont you post some pics of you and your phone together so that people shut up?" you will say this i am sure! And please dont bother of my reputation!
I am not sure whether i can post all these things here or not! Sorry if i was too rude! But some of you were very rude!
Thank YOU

See actually i took the phone (nokia 6630) to a nokia priority dealer because he, like most around here was not ready to believe my words that i already have the phone! So he told me show me the phone and i will buy it for Rs 50000 (that is nearly 1100 usd) i showed him the phone.. he was shocked! Although he didnt buy the phone from me for Rs 50000 he asked me 101 questions! And that is the time he told me that Nokia 6630 is not going to be officially released in India! I dont know how far it is true but he told me that!
And Mr a2k24 or whatever i left my no here for people to contact me! I didnt leave my no here for people to ask silly questions.. i got messages saying "Hi can u plz tell me the price of Nokia 6630" from +919815114221.. well why am i supposed to answer that question.. i had put up clearly here that the phone cost me Rs 27000+.. i even got a message from some country (+955 i think was the code) the message read "I saw your post on Mobileburn.. i would like to know more about the phone so please call me!" what the hell? Does that person think that i am crazy? 2 or 3 people called me and i talked to them! It doesnt make sense when they want to know about the phone and expect me to call them! I have had enough of this Bull****! Let me clear things once and for all IF YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE PHONE PLEASE CALL ME, I WONT BE REPLYING TO YOUR MESSAGES NOR WILL I BE CALLING YOU UP!
Hope it is clear
Thank you!

6630 photos look excellent! They seem crisper than the s700 photos (in comparison bit)...im considering getting this cos im getting miffed that people think that 6670 is whey better than 7610. The saddos at carphone warehouse, (the assistants who know f.a. about phones except sell) said thats its the 7610 but roided up, ie supered up, but it aint....so all them people who know nufink bout phones are being told wrong stuff, and theyre so easily convinced without actually checking phones out...anyway...

i feel sorry for them. They have a job that so many kids (and phone enthusiasts want)...yet they dont realise it as every time i see them theyre either shaking due or moaning due to stress...
They dont know whats coming soon, what the main features of the latest new phones. They only go(even if they do..) as far as their brochures go, and if thats wrong theyll give you wrong stuff or make it up!!!
there are places where its nice to know that you're assistant knows more about their job than you do, but its often very rare. Imagine going the doctors and knowing more about your condition than they do, that would be bad...happened before i told the doctor i had mumps, these were symptoms, he didnt believe me, then he looked on the internet and his books then said i was right...hated havin mumps...
anyway...I hope they market the 6630 for what it can actually do rather than what they think it does.

hiya,
i'm from the uk but i'm actually in nz atm for 6 months.
anyway i really really want this phone. I've got the MPX200 and i've been holding out for 3G (not for video but for power), when i caught sight of the 6630, i knew straight away which phone i was next getting.
I (like most british) speak english and only english. I've been onto TIM and the German Amazon. Even using babelfish i got mega confused (and might i add not because i'm stupid). Can somebody more cultured than myself email me a link to the "purchase" page for TIM (italy).

Well i got it at last,it cost me a total of 400 from Italy (TIM) with shipping etc etc,I must say that the phone is much faster scrolling through menus than any previous series 60 phone.Im very happy with it and thank god i have had no problems with the network thing and it has not rebooted by itself yet,i have put loads of apps on it and its ready to be installed.i will keep you up to date..the photos i have taken with the 6630 are great but it need room ..each photo takes up to 300-600kb in high resolution, and the sequence mode camera is FANTASTIC,the camera takes 6 photos 1 after the other, with great quality, nokia did it right at last

its normal on all 6630,its not a bug, dont worry...the image is clean as soon as you go to the images, can someone else test FS CALLER on there 6630?some say it works and some say no,please i love this app,I have tried some video calls with the 6630 and the streaming is very good(pity i needed to stand in front of a mirror so while the other person sees me i had to look in the mirror to see him),the 2 camera would have made this phone a 100% SMARTPHONE!!!

HAPPY HAPPY!!! now they its being launched, but ill still wait for a month for its price to drop a bit. no problemo with me

I'm sure there is a store in Melbourne that sells the Nokia HS-2R Radio headset, however ... I'm not in Melbourne. I'm in Brisbane. That's why I checked the Australian Online Stores first!
About the 6630, I just want to hold one and 'experiment' with it for about 2 weeks. I don't actually want to own for x amount of months ...

@jazzy1 heres a box picture alright  well the phone is not in the box as you can see in the photo because i used it to take the photo, the box has stereo handsfree, usb cable,cd pc suite, manuals,FASTER charger(than the 6600/7610)and the phone of course, and the 64mb dv or rs mmc with the adapter

Firstly ... that's a sexy box, lol :D
Secondly, I think the charger is the same with the one supplied with 6600 and 7610.
It largely depends on how effecient the phone uses the battery?
(I've come to this conclusion, as I've used both 6600 and 7610 ... BL-5C only lasted 24 hrs max on 6600, BL-5C lasted for 3 days minimum on 7610)

So with the same battery in the 2 phones, does it take about the same amount of time to charge or is that different too? Because with my Nokia 7600 the battery life (BL 5C) isnt too good, i can get 2-3 days out of it if i dont use the phone much, if i use it a fair bit i've gotta charge it every day, but charging even from completely flat doesnt take very long, around an hour max probably, i'm very impressed with that!

http://www.mobile-review.com/review/nokia-6630-en.shtml - states that...
"I advise to wait with buying Nokia 6630 till the next year, for example, till the end of January. There are several reasons. The first and the main one is that the device though working stable has some software mistakes for the moment. The second reason is not so evident, hardware part will be changed a bit and thus renewing the software later won't be so smooth for the device".
is this true? ... what software mistakes does it have and what hardware part will be changed?

Sorry if this has been asked before but can you manually set the 6630 so that it only uses a particular 2G network?
Thanks.
EDIT: It seems it can, just found it in the online PDF manual:
Operator selection - Select Automatic to set the phone to search for and select one of the available networks, or Manual to manually select the network from a list of networks. If the connection to the manually selected network is lost, the phone will sound an error tone and ask you to reselect a network. The selected network must have a roaming agreement with your home network, that is, the operator whose SIM card is in your phone.

To the 6630 owners.
Can you set different message alert tones for different groups? In the manual it says this:
To set and customise the ringing tones, message alert tones, and other tones for different events, environments, or caller groups, press and select Profiles. You can see the currently selected profile at the top of the display in the standby mode. If the General profile is in use, only the current date is shown.
I thought that might just mean different group ringing tones but not separate message alert tones.
Thanks.

yes it mentions a 64mb card i think in your country it varys Please note that the memory capacity of the MultiMediaCard (MMC) in the sales package may vary depending on the market and/or your network operator/service provider. So if your unlucky then you got a 32mb card http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,58711,00.html
Memory Functions
10 MB internal dynamic memory for contacts, text messages, multimedia messages, ringing tones, images, video clips, calendar notes, to-do list, and applications
Expandable memory: 64 MB Reduced Size Dual Voltage
(1.8/3V) MultiMediaCard (MMC)*
Hot swap slot for easy MMC card insertion and removal

i was at F SFR(Vodafone France basically) show room and i was shocked to see the 6630 there, oh my god, i was running around the store checking out the 6630 like a little kid, hehehehe.
anyways, ithe phone is beautifull, better looking in person than in the pictres. I even asked the sales guy to show me the phone so i can see how it finds in the hands, it's perfect, it's thinner than i though(im using S700 currently), unfortunately it's a dummy phone so i couldnt turn it on. anways, the bummer part is that it's being sold on contract only!!!! i was so mad when he told me they cannot sell it without contract, i was so ready to buy it till he said that. im on holiday here in france and cannot buy a locked phone. it's available in the USA for a high price, so i will just wait till it drops before i get it. Too bad my sexy looking, auto rebooting, curson laggin S700 will have to go.

I will review it.. But sorry no 3G! I have used the handset for about a month now! I think i can deliver a good enough review.. although i too am facing some minor problems with the phone! My review will be up in a completely new thread! This thread has run long enough i started it long long ago.. 23000 odd views... and 200 odd replies..
I have EDGE here i watch Tv through EDGE.. i will give a vvery clear review with pictures and even videos (if i can upload them?) I will take about 3 days for the review.. workout even the smallest of errors..
Please please give suggestions on how to make the review as good and nice as possible! i wont be using "..." and "!!" as much as i do!! :D

suggestions plzzz on how to make the review the best??
mmmm...... start with the basics - like what came with box? Then move on to the exterior of the phone, build quality, keypad response, key arrangement, "grip"ability of the phone, size, weight - how the phone feels when in use. Is it intuitive to type in? Then move on to the screen.... brightness, color rendition, is it easy to see in daylight? at night? when taking a pic? in night mode? is the resolution ok? how are the photos? sharpness? is it clear enough? how's the speed in taking a photo, is there a lag from the time you press the button to the actual pic taking action?
then move on to the software, how's the apps? how's the speed? menu speed, opening photos, phonebook browsing, editing photos? then the video, is it nice enough? when composing a text message, is it alpha or is it numeric? when storing numbers, is there anything special? like how many numbers per name? Is there a pic-caller ID when someone's calling you? Is there a text-message ID when someone's texting you? How's the sound? Is it loud enough even inside a bag? How's the ringtones? Can it use mp3's as well as wavs? When composing an MMS, how many pics can you include in that message? (the 6600 can include 4 to 5 in a slide show). When sending a text message - is there a "sending" envelope on the screen or is there another? Does it support animated screensavers? Can you change the color of the clock? Is there an icon for missed calls and text messages when the clock is on? (standby mode).
then move on to other stuff. How is it in bluetooth? Can you connect to another BT device from at least 20 feet? How is it when transferring files to and from a PC - is it fast, or slow, or just right? When using EDGE, is it fast, or is it the same speed as GPRS? When using speakerphone - is it loud enough, and is it easy to turn on or off? Compared to a joystick (6600, k700i) is the D-pad easier or harder to use? Can it use the SAME rd-mmc as that in a 7610? (some say that you cant coz the rs-mmc of the 6630 is dual-volt).
then move on to the other stuff... like what's the normal batt life, in normal usage, does it last a day or maybe 2 or 3? Then check the RF performance, like inside a Mall? or inside your room? or in the basement? Is it good enough like the other nokias?
... then just add more stuff that you notice about the phone. Pros and cons.
cheers!
