Hey guys ... I want to ask the 7610-users,
How is the reception on your 7610 during a phone call?
Cause I made a call to a guy who has a Hutchinson 3 phone, and he said my 7610 was crap.
It seems to be alright when I call someone on a 'normal phone' (a 2.5G phone eg Nokia 7250, SE T610)
Also ... I have the firmware v4.0421.4 (not CH) and sometimes I experience 'call breaks', where the phone call automatically cuts off. Any reasons why? A perfect reason to upgrade the firmware?

The reception is very good why?
i dont know why the call breaks but i dont think its the problem with the phone! i guess network at your place is quite weak and that is the reason why network breaks!!

There's your answer.. Don't know if its the same in oz but over here the 3 network is absolutly sh**e... Call quality is terrible, makes strange whoosing noises etc

Ok then. Guess its not my phone's fault. Got me worried for a second lol ^^
Thanks for the replies. But still ... the new firmware of adding shortcuts to D-Pad in Standby is ... very tempting n_n

Call quality with mes fab. They think im on landline.
How would i go about upgrading the firmware? I want short cuts. Go to is very very sh!te. To make it easier to access applications ive put everything in folders, multimedia, connection, organiser etc so i just click menu, 1, 1 and gallery opens instead of scrolling ,,click...scroll click...back, wrong button pressed...argh!
Nokia is very stupid for reducing technology when they make nu phones. Theyre like, lets make a nu phone but lets take out something that will make it popular...like dont make the universal pop port universal or take of dpad short cuts.

Ok. So it was the guy with the 3 phone's fault. Hehe ... my 7610 is fine, no need to change phone lol ><
Man ... I'm still waiting for HS-4W BT Headset and PD-2 Camera Flash to wash onto Australian shores. May take awhile ... What about your countries? In stock already?

Hey there nk_au,
While on the topic of phone call reception, I'd like to talk about quality.
I have recieved and made a few phone calls on my new 7610 and I find the speaker VERY soft compared to my 6600. Even when I turn to loudspeaker, I would imagine it wouldn't hold up very well in a loud room. How do you find the volume of your handset speaker? Also very soft? BTW, I have both handset and loudspeaker settings turned up to the maximum.
Then I remember you talking about the loudness of the mp3s and ringtones. You said that when playing and listening to ringtones that you found this very soft. I think quite a few people found this. At them moment I've got mine set on 3 below the highest setting, and I find that very loud. I find if I set it to the maximum, then the sound starts to destort.
Anyway, thought I'd just mention it. I am slightly disappointed in the loudness of the handset while talking on the phone to other people, but it's fine if it is in a quiet enviroment. Anyway, of increasing the volume even more?? Perhaps with some application?
:L:
EDIT: I've just noticed something else about the volume issue. When I set the clock alarm, it's also not very loud. Not loud enough to wake me up. But when I set the alarm tone in settings, the volume is VERY loud. Is there anyway to increase that volume? Cause I know with the 6600 and other Nokia phones the alarm used to get louder and louder the longer you left it. Any ideas?

Ermm ... I find the loudspeaker on the 7610 louder than my ex-6600 ...
And my friend said that our phone calls are clearer when I'm using my 7610 (compared to 6600)
