So a few new phones (Moto v600 and the new Nokia snapshotted on the front page) are going to include the Wireless Village IM client which is nice.

The question I have is this - who can use Wireless Village? Is it only other wireless village users, thus only people with compatible phones can chat to each other?

Or, is it inter-compatible with other IM software (Microsoft, ICQ, Yahoo) like Trillian?

I really hope it's not the first option...most of my friends don't upgrade phones as often as I do :-(

I'm relatively sure it's not interconnected with any other network, or we should have seen a couple of million press releases from both companies (Nokia chooses Microsoft's amazing MSN to interconnect with ec etc).

At Sony DreamWorld, one of the reps showed me a client that was installed on a PC, and that was communicating with the prototype Z600's that were equiped with the Village People soft...
