Yeasterday we had five 6260 arriving in the store, as mobile manager, I tried one on...I was stunned...but not out of hapiness, no, in how stupid this phone is.
Except the fact that the phone was plastic with the keys making small noices when pressed, the fact that the "upper part" of the usual Nokia keyboard (soft-keys, joystick etc) is on the upper part, and the rest of the keyboard (yes and no, dialkeyes) is on the lower part, this is just a pain!
Sure, if you'r gonna navigate in the phone, for example take pictures or go on the web, but as soon as you need to write an e-mail, text or something else, you need to use booth hands, one on the upper part, and the other one on the lower, its just so inconvinient. Trust me guys, you do NOT want this phone. And its only equiped with 6MB intern memory anyway...even tho its as big as a 3G-phone...waste of money, get the 6230 instead, or the 7610...or perhaps a P910i or K700i...but not 6260, big nono

Stereo?

I honestly don't know, but since 7610 didnt have it, I seriously doubt 6260 has it. Unfortunatly Nokia rarely learn from their misstakes.

if i am your area manager, you are FIRED!
that is not the way a mobile manager speaks! 6MB + MMC (or RS-MMC, m not sure there)
as for the keys, there is always the learning curved ya know! the noices you are talking about, are you sure it is not the "keypad tones"???
as, always, i never trust the people in the cellphone stores, they dont know sh*t!

i think this is pretty obvious already.. and has been mentioned in some of the threads here... although i do "think" that it may be hard to use, ill still reserve my final judgement when they do an official review here...

this, I think, is almost the same situation with the p910.... the user having to use both hands just to type in text (one for doing the typing, and the other one to hold the phone). I have to agree - just imagining how it must feel, it could be pretty awkward.
And its only equiped with 6MB intern memory anyway...even tho its as big as a 3G-phone...waste of money, get the 6230 instead, or the 7610...or perhaps a P910i or K700i...but not 6260, big nono
like what was the impression of other people... the 6260 is just a 'repackaged' 6600... maybe now there really is some truth to that? Let's wait for more reviews.
cheers!

LOL, people, why do you still believe that ****. When the 7610 came up I read 100's of posts tellig me not to bye it, mentioning a lot of phone's bugs, defects and misadvantages. It was told that the device is slower, the camera is rubbish, the keypad was considered unconfortable, the battery life was unacceptable ect. However I'm a "jackass" and bought it, two months ago. And with my hand on my heart I can say that none of the above is true :)

Eh, well, If you were my area manager, and youd fire me, Id report u...freedom of speech? Then, on the other hand, in what company is it said that a person cant express his opinion? Mobile Manager r not? Phones 4u, Carphone wearhouse? Get your facts straight and stick to the point?
Anyway, as I said, (as mobile manager and all :D ) The noices from the keypad was not the tones, it was noices made of plastic touching plastic, theres quite some difference. And certainly, u might get used to the buttons, I was very handy to folder the phone with the display outwards and use the navigation buttons, but then again, if u need to use the numeric-buttons, u need to folder upp, and this is where it gets tricky...and to my defense, I quickly got used to 7600, Siemens Sx1 and the SE p910i (The flip on the P910i is now wery stable, u can hold the phone in the flip with booth hands r type with the thumb)
As Ruler 70 pointed out, it is all a question of personal preference.

Dont think the p910 can be used with its keyboard all with one hand !! i think thats so hard the same situation as the 6260. may be i'll have to try them both before i judge them...

Some fanboys go to great extent.......anyway the big fight is on..cannot wait to play with S700i, Z1010, Nokia 6260....Nokia 7260, Nokia 6670 and then decide for myself what i wanna get.

No at this point handsfree speakers are mono. If you want the stereo effect the Motorola E398 has dual speakers.

Wasn't there a 6230i with a stereo speaker? Or was that just a rumour?

That was a dumbass rumour Mobile-Review started and got absolutely slated by Nokia reps for.
I will still get a 6260 because I want the convergence between an MP3 player and Symbian camera smartphone. Also, we're pretty sure it's stereo and has an RS-MMC slot which folds out under the back cover.

Finally I holded a new 6260 last Thursday in one of the stores, the phone is great but never tried it. There is nothing with the key buttons as the original poster mentioned, the buttons are great. The PHONE IT SELF IS FANTASTIC, I was gonna buy it but decided to wait for the 9500. The 6260 costs here about $510. Although I never tried the phone, but I'm 100% pretty sure that it supports stereo output.

i use two hands to type mms as its so much quicker.
So if i have to use two hands for this phone well thats not really a flaw for me.
The squeeky buttons...argh..nokia..hmm...not too bad.
Nifty little phone, quite slim when opened. oH AND its cheap.
Nokia will probably release a sister phone to 6260 which has more buttons on main keypad and an mp cam. *crosses fingers*.

one year tops for me i change every year i went 7650--->6600--->now 6260 maybe 6630 later on im not to thrilled about the design.....by the way the 6260 gives you an option during an incoming call when opening the flip if you want to answer or not in case there are people wondering

If i didn't get the 7610, I would probably buy the 6260.
But seeing that I've experienced a megapixeling camera phone, I can't really go back to VGA ><"

As opposed to what Bouvin had said, when I tried it at the Showcase in June, it felt good and steady in my hands and precisely because the keys are on the upper part of the real estate, it makes the centre of gravity even and easy for the user to press. The motion of the camera twist is definitely smooth and functional.
So it really depends on individual.

Well, it's about time someone said something positive about the phone. It is a first for Nokia and that is always good, 6260 is something special; probably because its a clamshell Symbian (personally I think I can deal with the size). I want to handle the phone first - hopefully it will be better than the 7610 which was basically (at heart) a 6600 in a new case.

I'm going to see how much a 6260 costs in Australia. But as usual ... the lads down under gets the latest gadgets last *sigh*
PS: I reckon the 6670 is a "7610 in a new case" ;)

Yeah, here in SA we also get phones pretty much after everyone else.
On the bright side, we get the phones with fixed firmware versions, so we dont have a quarter of the problems that other countries experience.

The fact that the 6670 is a 7610 in a different shell was never in any doubt - it's been done before - I think it's to differentiate markets between business and consumer-classes. The 6xxx series is business and the 7xxx is fun/stylish:
It's the same with:
6610 vs. 7210
6610i vs. 7250i
6510 vs. 8310 (ok, so the 6510 has a higher resolution screen but the hardware is the same)
6670 vs. 7610
There's probably more as well, but I agree with you, it's 99% certain that the 6670 will be hardware-wise the same as the 7610.

i agree with the phone manager. The first time i set my eyes on the 6260, I know it is not going to be a practical phone. You should know that we only have two hands and how are we able to hold the phone properly with buttons on both sides of the clamshell.

Its a business "smart" phone, not a toy! Try using the P900 with one hand! The sooner people realise this the sooner it will stop being a problem.
