Don't think so. According to Nokia press released, they already started shipping the 6260 to some market. May be the phone have some bugs need to delay the release date.

Yeah It's not released globaly yet, it's initially just for selected markets, which means if you happen to find the phone, it will be more expensive than it's original price about %500 more.

it really wouldnt matter to me much if they did cancel that phone.
cuz even if they didnt then it would still be a good six to nine months before it'd be available through Cingular anyways.
and thats thinking positively.

Erm, i think it would be really stupid if they'd cancel a phone that they have already realesed! Plus the 6260 has the prospect of becoming nokia's next flagship phone, i dont think they'd pull it.

Well it might not be that much of a problem. When the 3650 and 6600 came out, there was tons of speculation on its size, even the P800, yet look how many people bought them.

mmm... my first impression on that phone is just that... it looks like a 6600 repackaged into a flip. The screen size seems to be the same, just that the buttons were re-arranged and placed in other locations.
maybe IF that news was true... only a handful will be released, like what they did to the stillborn 7700... which only some units ever made it out.
but I do think that it would be wrong move for nokia if they cancel this... it's clear that so many already like the phone, and cancelling it will mean that more and more people will get dissappointed with them.
cheers!

wat has happen to nokia..its kinda like they been dead the last 2 weeks. no announcements, no new phones, nothing. after announcing the 6670 they kinda just went underground.....hmmm....

Well lets hope they've been so quiet cause they've been too busy with some underground project

I really hope not too. This link which used to work, also no longer works:

[Basically you can replace the 6260 with any Nokia phone model number, i.e. 7610, 5140, etc.]

Nokia had said nothing about it, so its probably just a rumour some fanboy started.

Yeah i know, even phones like the Mpx200 and V600 are pretty big. Samsung is the one who makes tiny clamshells.

Samsung are also known for making some of the most basic clamshells too, and their UI is way behind Nokia, Motorola, SE, etc.

Yeah, thats what makes the 6260 so attractive, the fact that is runs on Symbian Series 60.
