Just wondering wot everyone else thinks to the battery life on 7610s. Ive had mine about a month and i have to charge it nearly every nite! i do make a lot of calls but still is this normal??

also i leave BT on all the time, does this make much difference to the battery life? am i best turning it off??

cheers newso

it is better to keep the bt off because it is surely drain ur batt. the batt life is also depends on how long do u make a call in one day. if it is more than 4 hours, than it is a normal thing to charge ur n7610 everyday. :D

the battery of 7610 is ok! i use (for calls) it for 3 to 4 hrs a day! i am not sure whether the batt will drain if the blue tooth is ON! i have never given it a thought! try reducing the display brightness and remove the vibrating alert! i guess with all these settings your battery should last for 1 1/2 days easily! but i charge it once in a day, and i also carry a extra battery with me, because i travel a lot! one interesting thing, i wanted to check my battery talktime, so i fully charged my phone and then gave a call to my gfs phone (outgoing calls are free to her phone) the call lasted 6 hrs and 28 min! Unbelievable but true! Also tried without making any calls in a day no usage just standby mode with light off throughout (without touching the phone) the battery was drained after 6 days!

i am very happy with the battery of 7610 compared to other phones (that i have used) with all the features and the bright screen that 7610 has got.. the battery backup is quite good, if not very good!

My battery is fine as long as you dont touch the phone. lol...its crap..an hour using stuff and its got 1 bar left...aargh!

The thing is though, i dont see why the user should have to impliment reduction of features to the phone just to make it last longer. Nokia have had plenty of time to do something bout their *poopoo* (yeah thats right...poo..rebel...lol joke) batteries. Die NOKIA...only messin..i luv u really. :P

I've got emergency portably chargers though incase it does die when I need to use it..good thing is though ive never had to use it.

i think the battery life is quite good, but when you own a motorola a925 aswell i think anything has good battery life compared to that...

i use mine a lot for work calls and camera and i can go 2 days without charging it, have a charger at work too though just in case

hmm.. i find that i can talk for about 1 and a half hours, watch about 30mins of smartmovie divx and play SonicN for a lil' bit.. each day... a couple of photos here and there. and use BT for about half an hour (as in an active BT connection).. and then i charge it every night.

... i think BT does make a difference; and so does camera. i don't use video camera or anything usually and i might take one or two photos during the day.

also u shud turn BT off because there are all these BT 'scares' and 'threats' and so on.. which whilst i don't understand them, the message in all of them is clear.. disable BT when not in use.

Isn't SE's phone battery life worst, nokia has the better battery life thats why i dont even need to worry.

see the problems i have seen with many of my friends and colleagues who dont have a bit knowledge in cell phones but still they wanna own the latest cell phone!!!

my colleague was complainin that my battery doest even last half a day, he is using a 6600 and i was like u must be kiddin i use to own a 6600 and it use to gimme such a good talk time and playin around with the phone and the battery lasted a whole day i mean still could use it for another ½ day

basically what many people do is that they forget these r smartphones actually unsmart in a way, they dont close the programs which cause them to run in the background which causes the phone to use more processor power and thus the battery comsumption is more.....

u can simply close the programs by pressin the menu button for 2 seconds and u will see the list of programs open and u can point to any one of them and press the 'c' button to close them and just let the telephone thingy to run and i m sure ur battery life will rock

my 2 cents!!! actually too big :D

I think the 7610 has a good lifespan for a smartphone.
Mine can last me 2-3 days depending on usage.
I guess the network you're in can also affect the lifespan of your battery.

I've used the Nokia 6600, and trust me ... the 7610's battery is impressive. Mine can last up to 5 days (depends on my usage)

My ex-6600 could only last 24 hours maximum (same usage)

nokia 7610 has very decent batt life i wap txt and talk a lot and it easily gives me 1.5 days. ( If u do have a prob try sticking in the ngage's blc6 battery into 7610 its a tight fit but it will give u that much extra juice.

In response to someone saying se is bad on battery life... sorry that is one thing se has nokia beat on my as they use li-polymer on most of their recent cells . That helps in much higher standby times and talk times. My p900 ( i know far bigger batt but still ) with 1.5 hrs of wapping 2 hrs of talking 50-100 sms an hr of chess and quite a bit of usage off the pda features including readin ebooks listening to music watching the occasional video clip people forward via mms etc basically heavy usage it goes 4-5 days without a charge.

I tried the same on 7610 and it lasted barely under 20 hrs. With blc6 batt it lasted a little over day and a half

My 7610's battery lasts for 3 days. I do tend to take a lot of pictures though and play mp3's once in a while. My unit's quite new and I've only used BT twice, to swap mp3's with my friends phones.

It has the same battery as that of the 6100, and 6600. Perhaps they should have equipped it with a larger battery, but then again that would add to the weight of the unit.

6100? u sure?.. i thought it was different capacity? *shrugs* ... i was swapping them only recently (swapping sims between a 6100 and 7610) but i'll check it again later..

my batt can last 3.5 days if i just sms on average 15x a day. with 2 calls on average in between, 2.5 days is achievable

wow! 3.5 days! I dont wanna turn bluetooth off cos its funny being sent pictures/videos from people and if i turn it off they cant find me. SE batteries have amazed me...i always thought they were among the best. But I guess the reason the battery of the 7610 is so "crap" because people love it so much they use it all the time!

Dude, you never turn off your bluetooth? Just make sure you don't get Caribe (that infamous cellphone virus) in your phone.

well i never turned it on..seemed pointless cos on one wants to use it, then i introduced it to the school and now everyones bluemessaging. I dont think theyre that capable of giving me the caribe even if they are i have to install it right? and if they do i have insurance to fix that. thanks for ur concern tho :d.

I spose i should turn it off. yeah i wil. *turns of bluetooth*

Never turning off your bluetooth means shorter battery life. Then again, using it to swap pictures, videos and tones is so convenient it can be addictive.

You're right, even if someone did send you caribe, it won't install unless you accept it.

Cheers! Have fun with your 7610, I know I do ;)

want more juice on ur 7610, see if u can fit in a BL-6C battery...

i cant swap tones with non symbian nokia people. They dont recognise wot im sending :I . I was thinkin bout using that battery but im not going to bother cos i dont wanna pay for a battery i should aready have anyway.

Bluetooth can be anonying sometimes because people send me stuff during class, i dont usually know who theyre from and where they are, just that theyre 10 m radially. bit funny though trying to guess who it is. And its free so its cool. I reckon they should make bluetooth in phones at least 100m. It will kill the battery but itll be great! U can contact people from other sides of campus (almost) and u definately wont know who sends u bluetooth things.

Maybe if somehow possible, bluetooth will go as far as miles in connection length and i can mms will forever be free! but UNLESS THEY ADRESS BATTERY NONE OF THIS WILL HAPPEN. Anyone see sharp gx batteries? theyre wierd.

Bluetooth is definitely great. It's supposed to use less power than infra-red since only radio frequencies are involved. Also, no awkward positioning neccessary.

7610 battery is BL-5C, whereas 6100 is BL-4C. so they are different. these r the batteries which came with my 7610 and 6100.

well, the BL-6C (n-gage qd bat) is just slightly thicker than the BL-5C, perhaps thicker by 0.5mm, but that is the only physical difference, and it offers more Ah, it has the same voltage and i know it fits and works on the 6600 and 6620, i even tried it on the 6230, unfortunately i could not get the back cover to close...
