Motorola was kind enough to send us a new V710 to review. After activating it on my own personal Verizon Wireless account, I started taking it for a spin. A lot of hopes and dreams rest on this megapixel camera, bluetooth equipped wonder. Does it deliver? The Motorola V710 Review (http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=881&source=FORUMS) has been posted.

Thanks a lot Michael!:D I have been waiting this review for a long time, thank you a lot. I read it already three times back and forth, so you'll get a lot of page hits this month!:p

It was really good, I appreciate all of the details and hard work you put into it. Nice job!

I liked this phone ever since it was announced, I'm just so mad at Verizon, because they got this otherwise spectacular phone, destroyed with their crippling. Though there are a lot of rumors of a firmware update, which I'm hoping are true.

I shall communicate you of something, though. The Bluetooth synchronization with Mobile PhoneTools is currently impossible, but it's suppossed, as mentioned in the Motorola website, that the new version will make this function available. It's mentioned a lot of times in their FAQ section, I'll try to get the link. The new version [3.0] is suppossed to be out 3rd Quarter; but since this quarter is almost over, I'm thinking November or even October.

Again, thanks for that extensive and long review. It was a pleasure to read it and the pictures are really helpful. The picture samples, though, I couldn't access. I'll try later because it may be my browser.

Thanks for everything,

Sincerely,

Justo.

Ok, here I found some info about the Mobile PhoneTools issue.

Q: What do I do with the videos on my TransFlash card after I have recorded them?
A: Typical uses for the videos that you have captured using your Motorola V710 and saved to your TransFlash card would be to transfer them to a PC using either a SDCard reader/writer (purchased separately), a USB cable, or using Bluetooth and Motorola’s MobilePhoneTools 3.0 software package. Additionally, they can be viewed on your phone and shared with others that have a Motorola V710. Please note that the PC to phone or phone to PC transfer options may be limited due to carrier restrictions. Please check with your carrier for full details.

It's at this link: Imaging FAQ ( http://motorola.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/motorola.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=QZkgwzmh&p_lva=&p_faqid=4194&p_created=1093546683&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9ncmlkc29ydD0mcF9yb3dfY250PTUxJ nBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9djcxMCZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPTMmcF9 wcm9kX2x2bDE9fmFueX4mcF9wcm9kX2x2bDI9fmFueX4mcF9jY XRfbHZsMT1_YW55fiZwX2NhdF9sdmwyPX5hbnl_JnBfc29ydF9 ieT1kZmx0JnBfcGFnZT0x&p_li=)

I also had another page with V710's compatible profiles, but it seems they have retired that link. As a footnote it mentioned that the new version of MPT will enable Bluetooth synchronization.

I hope it was helpful.

I looks like the problems over the Bluetooth are with the phone and not the software. You will ahve to get a firmware update to the phone from Motorola

I got the V710 for my wife with the headset to use in the car. My wife is not extremely technically adept to say the least. I would like to set her phone up where bluetooth is automatically on by defauly evertime she turns her phone on (it's a ten-step command process to turn it on). Is there any way to do this?
