View Full Version : 7610 theme icons
i've had my 7610 for a while now but only just noticed that when you go to themes and "edit" you don't have the option to change the icons like you did with the 6600. i was browsing the manual for the 6260 and it says on there that you can change the icons so i dont understand why they didnt include this with the 7610 aswell - or is there a problem with my phone ? i think it needs reflashing as when i go onto the menus and highlight something it doenst appear as it should do (ie its a block when it should be a dot thing - have attached a pic to show what i mean).
so is it normal not being able to edit the icons ? this is a feature i liked as when using the default icons rather than the one from the downloaded theme the phone runs a lot quicker

Hey, not too sure, but you can download SkinEdit (I believe that's what it's called) to edit icons etc. Though you have to run launcher to use it...
thanks. just meant was it disabled on the 7610 for whatever reason. not too concerned anyway as have decided im selling it and getting the 6260 when its out, i know it only has vga cam but im also getting the 6630 to put my 3g sim in so have the best of both worlds :-)

The 6600 doesn't have themes. You're right though, you can't customize the icons on a 7610 (perhaps added software is needed).
Nokia will never make a perfect phone, so omissions here and there in most of their phones is not at all surprising.
Try using theme 4, you'll notice all the icons change to a more black-and-white configuration. I just like the basic theme and theme 4. I'm not fond of themes 1 to 3.
You can also download theme-making software from Nokia or from other third party companies.

Really? My sister has a 6600 and she can't find the themes in her menu. Ok, I'll tell her to look for it.
