I've been doing some reading up on how to unlock my 3650. I'll be travelling to south Asia in a month and don't own a local SIM I want to use on the 3650.
I read somewhere that unlocking when under T-Mobile is risky and could cause problems with the phone - generally bad news. Is this true?
The serial number of my phone is 351102503363888
Can anyone tell me/walk me through the process of how to unlock it?
Thanks much,
D.

Haha, for real, how did you get these? Hehe, I've tried all combinations I know! Asic 2 or Asic 5 or Asic 6 or Asic 7 with GTCL, V1, V2, Griffen Old, Griffen New, Prodigy, Original, ONE, Asic 6, T-Mobile, Custom et cetera et cetera haha and I can't get it? Oh well, we'll see :).

I used the DCT4 (or whatever you call it) and specified it being a US 3650, and the carrier being, aah I forget (tmobile?) thats pretty much it. I had one also and unclocked it with this method. I know its not a DCT4 bla bla, but it worked for me so :)

Haha
I'm glad I didn't read all those posts about mismatching codes BEFORE I tried it.
I tried the first code from TheZodiac's post, didn't work. I tried the 5th and 7th as well, which didn't work either. So, generally pissed off, I was like f@#$ it and tried code 3 - which worked! Random, huh?
Thanks for the info and help all ya'll.

You need to call Tmobile for that. They will do that for you for free, send you the unlocking codes. I have done that many times with many phones. Just remember to tell them u travel overseas often and would like to use your phone with other SIM chips.

Well my old 3650 is now unlocked. I'm giving it to my brother because he needs a tri-band to use while travelling, and doesn't want to shell out big bucks for a new phone. I just got a Moto V600 from Tmo for less than $75 as part of the renewal package and they asked me to call their customer service for a free "subsidy unlock" - which I'm guessing is a regular unlock with a fancy name?
My huge question is this: all reviews on the V600 say its a quad-band phone, but the Tmo website as well as the dude I spoke to in customer service says it's listed as a tri-band. I'm not getting screwed over by Tmo who're sending me a V600 thats only tri-band, am I?
If that's the case I'll be bloody pissed  . Some Tmo dude is up for a whoopin' like no tomorrow.
