I bought a nice digital scale and weighed the P900.
With Flip, memory Stick, SIM, and Stylus: 155.6g
Swap out the flip/cover and bring that to: 145.6g
Memory stick weighs 1.3g, SIM .3g - for those of you that care.
hehe nice.
good idea Michael
how do you think it weighs? i mean considering what it does and so on.
i got yelled at before cause i said the Nokia 3650 or what ever, the one with the round buttons on it. i said it was TOOOO big and TOOO heavi for a cell phone that does less that T610.
so what do you think?
and what do you think of its size compared to the P800? is it good enough to have in your jacket pocked? do you notice it? does the weight make you walk on your side like your limping? hehe

I agree, 3650 is big etc. but I don't agree it does less than SE610. :)

I think the weight is acceptable for the capabilities it has - for now.
As me again in a year and I won't give you the same answer, of course.
The device fits in my jeans pockets easily enough, I suppose. Doesn't feel *too* bulky, though it certainly is no T68i.
3650, on the other hand, is too big and bulky for what it does. Weight is ok, I suppose, but the size is not (not to mention that brain-fart of a keypad). And in any event, it certaily is a more capable device than a T610.
i was talking about grams / efficiency
hehehehe jk
im a faithfull T610 user. what ever you compare it to i will tell you mine is better. if its not another SE phone
hehe

Well, I'll tell you I think the T610 is a piece of crap due to the RF and Display.
The Z600, on the other hand, is damn fine.
As to grams/efficiency....like I said. It depends on what you want to do. If you want to create new email messages, the 6600 wouldn't be efficient in that regard even if it weighed 1 gram.
If you just want to read email, then the P900 is bloated.
Apples and Oranges.

Mike you need to get over your problems with the t610/t616. I have had NO trouble with my phone and its display is better than every single nokia, and siemens out there. You are one of the few people who thinks this phone is "fatally flawed" Get over it and stop bashing it because you are way in the minority.
the point is = which do you like more
Nokia
or
Sony Ericsson
Cell phones in general

Well, I was responding to "im a faithfull T610 user. what ever you compare it to i will tell you mine is better." Had he not thrown that out there, I wouldn't have felt compelled to state a contrary opinion.
And frankly, my guess is that I have given it a better comparison test than you. I've tested it in both North America and Europe, and compared it side by side to other devices. I've even test three different T610s. It has lousy RF abilities.
SE admits as much that it is poor. I've discussed it with them.
As to being in the minority, that might be true. But most of the people that run sites like mine happen to agree with me. Even before I got my first T610 Howard Chui was telling me how lousy the T610's RF was, for example. He's not the only one. Mobile Review, regarding the display:
"One of the arguments for this statement is that the information is not clearly seen in sunny day. Even in January it was very difficult to read something. As you understand it is impossible to do it under spring’s sun."
And your statement alone shows a huge pro-SE bias, whereas I just tell it like it is. I happen to be a big SE fan, which it pretty obvious, but I call a spade a spade.
And besides, I believe if anybody is entitled to express his opinion on this site, it would be me.
You, on the other hand, are here as my guest.
I wouldn't forget that, Chic.

And to answer your question, Arsa. If you force me to choose, I pick a P900.
I liked the 7650 very much, and the 6600 will be basically the same for most intents and purposes, but as the 7650 wasn't enough for me to justify the added weight and bulk, I doubt the 6600 would be either.
The P900, on the other hand, is probably worth the added weight and bulk given the added level of functionality.

yah you're right, i guess, I was just venting my anger cause I really, really like my phone:) Its really just cause you're opinion has such a profound effect on a lot of readers who are looking for phones and I dont want people to be detracted from buying it because of one person's opinion.

Actually just a quick question about the P900, Mike I don't know if you've still got it to be able to tell me but do you remember what languages were installed on the phone? I'm trying to find a phone that has Japanese language capability, which as you can probably guess is pretty rare in the GSM world. =P
Thanks =)
hehe good answer.
actually i was just kidding around, you can find a ( hehe) here and there=)
Well i do agree that the screen was very poor. i could use it but you had to look into it like an old man looks at his watch hehe=) and id ont know what you mean by RF! do you mean reception? if you mean that then i havent had any problems with the reception. it always works fine for me BUT i HAVE noticed that the reception bars on the phone are most of the time on a 3 or 4.
not like my T68 that was almost always on top.
Yes i am a VERY pro-SE user. i LOVE their phones
i actually liked Motorola before that and Nokia. i didnt like the early Ericsson T10 and T20s. but ever since i got my T68 my entire view has changed. first of all because i Live in sweden and it has going VERY bad for Ericsson lately. their stock came down from 200kr per stock to 4kr. and im a very proud patriot and since Ericsson was forced to fire thousands of workers i thaught maybe i should help out.
And ever since T68 SE has been doing ONLY good cell phones
you HAVE to admit that for the price the T610 was sold it was a very good phone. camera, 65k screen, poly ring tone, and so on. i was STUNNED it only cost 430 euros.
So i Like SE BUUUUT i do try to stay neutral
i did say that i was very impressed by the 7700 in the other thread. and i like some of Nokias phones. the last GOOOD cell phone Nokia made according to me was the 6210 series. remember that? it had everything.
but their recent models like
N-gage! can you say Elephant ear?? hehe
3650! did they experiment on how big they could make a mobile?
5110/5210! is this suppose to tell me the tem in the steam room?
7700! where am i suppose to stoore this? i already have a computer.
i mean they arent thinking correctly. but the 7700 is going to be interesting to see and the 6230 and 6800 are also looking nice with bluetooth ( FINALY IN NOKIA PHONES ) hehe.
But anyway i REALLY like your reviews. keep up the good work cause i will be on your back and asking you questions =)

AL9999 i actually found a couple of programs that you can download and install in your P800/P900 to have a japanes english dictionary
http://www.handango.com/sonyericsson/PlatformSoftwareDetail.jsp?siteId=790&device=P800&jid=FXB21898172F83F676B6E6C7X4E3C34X&productType=2&productId=81906&platformId=4&title=Software&javaDevice=P800
dont know if the P900 has it. Mick has to take that one
and by the way Mike
i was able to convince 8 of my friends and co workers to buy the T610 a few weeks after me. i told them that it might have a sound problem ( mine didnt ) and showed them that the screen wasnt so good but they all went and bought it because they said that it has a color screen, camera and only very little.
i should have gotten some % from SE =)

I don't recall what the choices were, but I could have picked one of a number of them.
Look through the user guide. There is probably a link on the SE site. But I doubt Japanese was an option.

RF = Radio Frequency. But yeah, I mean reception. I've just gotten into the habbit of saying RF - it is what an engineer would say. I'm just being a dork.
While the bars on the display don't mean much (that is determined by programming in the phone), the real world of it is that the T68i does better in a weaker signal area - and the T68i is not a great performer to start with.
The T616 was much improved in that regard, and I say as much in the review. The display is the only problem with the T616.
And as to the price....the T610 was every bit as expensive as any other high-end phone when it first came out and was reviewed. it is a decent value now, I suppose, but it wasn't then.
And as for decent Nokia phones of late. 7650 was great, 6610/6100 are great "normal phones", the 7250 is a damn fine cameraphone.
The taco, on the other hand....we don't need to mention the taco.
And god only knows what the new Taco Supreme that they just introduced will be like. Great display and all, but it doesn't look like something I would want to use - but I can ignore ugly looks if the functionality is there.

Yeah, I have a T616 now and I find the RF really good at least compared to the T68i. I often have reception even when my friends don't and a lot of them have Nokias which are supposed to have good reception by reputation. The screen could be better but I don't really mind too much. I have never noticed to be unusable. I'm just posting this because your review almost stopped me from buying this phone but now that I have it I think it's great.
