Michael, I just read your excellent review of the Z600. Can you answer a couple of questions about it?

1) Can you use your Bluetooth headset while the clamshell is closed? Answering a call while the shell is closed would be kinda critical, IMO.

2) I have a little keyboard that I bought for like $10 for my T68i. Think it could be plugged into the bottom of the Z600? (Very minor point, really, just handy when I'm having an extended SMS conversation.)

Yes, the headset works with the phone open or closed. Would be of little use if you had to take the phone out of your pocket to answer with the headset.

I'm sure the keyboard would plug in, I have no idea if it would work. I have two of them and never thought to try it out since it was always so slow on the T68i.

I don't have access to a Z600 or T610 to try it out now.

One thing annoys me about the Bluetooth implementation with Sony (and probably all other manufacturer's) phones. I use voice dialing to dial in to my office to pick up my voicemail. I have programmed in the phone number a pause followed by my access code - so far so good. But then if there are messages waiting, I have to key 1 to hear them. And the only way I can do that is by pressing the key on the phone. Why can't they allow me to program a voice code for each of the numbers on the keypad?

I assume that's not changed on the Z600? I'm getting one anyway but it will be even more difficult because I will have to open the phone first before I can hit any of the number keys.

Would it be so difficult to have voice activation of each key?

The Bluetooth Headset and Hands Free profiles do not support voice dialing of digits, I believe. That would have to be implemented in a proprietary manner in the phone.

My voicemail system, for what its worth, does not require me pressing any buttons to hear the messages.

you'd also have to program the phone so that it knows when you're voice-dialing some kind of answering machine service. it'd probably sound kinda funny if the phone sent a 1 every time you said "one" to your girlfriend :D

I read somewhere that the Z600 can only have 50 SMS messages, is this true or is it down to how much the phone memory is being used?

If anyone knows the answer, i'd be most greatful!

Thanks
