Hi, I purchased a Nokia 7610 about a month ago and it has always bothered me that when video resolution it set at maximum the video is always choppy. Is there a way to cure this? When i set the resolution at minimum, there is less chopiness but overall the video quality is still sub-par. Is there a way to get of the choppiness when you set the video resolution to the maximum?

Nope, but what helpes is firmware update. My friend had this problem on her 7610, but when she updated her firmware, video was less choppy. Sound in video is less robotic with new firmware(can't remember version of firmware, but it's 4.something).

you would very expensive hardware for you to install it yourself.
Best thing to do, is take it to a nokia care centre with your receipt and they should upgrade it for free.

Exactly. Tell them that something is wrong, so that they update firmware for free.

Aren't all videos taken by 6600 and 7610 choppy? Its because of the frame rate ain't it?
I don't think its the phone or firmware problem. That's how it is ...
Correct me if I'm wrong ...

U can try to hold very still while taking ur vidoe shots. It would reduce but not eliminate the "choppiness". And I agree with nk_au, the video feature in nokia phones have not been perfected yet.

yeah...the best videos ive taken is when ive set the phone on the table...its crystal clear, but u aint gonna get that chance when ur out an about.
To those people whove used eti extended recorder or phillips camcorder pro, are the quality on those better?

I was taking a video of my mates playing bottle soccer (an empty ice tea bottle as a 'ball').
They had to play in slow-motion for me to get a decent video lol :D

I think videos are the next thing phone companies should perfect and not just the main picture cam...:S

Too bad they aren't doing anything about the video recording :(
