Any comments on this flip phone? It's being advertised in the local newspapers.

That's very informative, shaheen :) But it looks smaller though. Do you how much it costs?

It's the best phone in the Panasonic X100-X700 lineup, but to be honest that's not saying a lot.

128x128 pixel display, VGA resolution camera, no external screen, no Bluetooth. Very 2003 in terms of specification. It's fairly light and attractive though.

Well, the X700 is meant to be a Smartphone, but really it's the least impressive Smartphone I've ever seen with it's tiny screen. Panasonic were making a big play of being able to work with Excel spreadsheets.. but not on a 132x176 pixel display you're not. Panasonic have high hopes for the X700 I know, but it's just not gonna sell into the Smartphone market, it might do OK as a mid-range clamshell.

Personally I think the X400 is better at being what it is meant to be - an attractive lightweight clamshell. The X700 is trying to be something it isn't.. of course it's a better phone, but it's over-rated by Panasonic themselves.

Added: the X100 and X200 aren't too bad either in my view.. neat little phones if that's what you're after - i.e. you don't care too much about specifications.

Since its Symbin running OS, i think is not diffcult to put in the MP3 player, or else can be use third-party software. The important is whether have stereo.

:) Yeah, the mp3 thing would be easy, however I don't think one can add stereo with just software...

Plus according to gsmarena, the screen is REALLY small, quite smaller than normal Nokia series 60 phones...

I think the size from gsmarena may not correct, its just the x70's size.

I beleive the size of x700 should be 96.2 x 49 x 23.9 mm, not 87 x 47 x 24 mm

Yeah, I think the GSM arena specs could be wrong, seeing as the pice of the X700 here: http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/4662.html looks normal sized, rather than puny -_-. :)

I thought Series 60 had to have a default screen size for the OS to work? Just like Windows Mobile. I haven't seen any variant from the screen sizes of 6600, 7610, N-Gage, SX1 thou.....

That sounds a lot more like a Smartphone. This is what happens when the manufacturer doesn't release enough data at launch time!
