Will my brother's Nokia 6230 on Vodafone UK lose any of it's settings like Vodafone Live! if I unlock it using an Unlocking Code Calculater like I unlocked my T-Mobile UK 6230? I didn't lose any settings at all on my 6230 when I unlocked it from T-Mobile UK but my bro's a bit apprehensive about what unlocking it will do to it.

I know unlocking with a Cable can make you lose settings on phones like Samsung, so if I used a cable on my bro's 6230 it'll probably cause probs too.

I've been trying to convince him that my method will not erase ANY settings on his 6230, just like it DIDN'T on MY 6230.

Am I right?:)

Cheers.

Why do you have 2 threads asking the same question?

three threads...

I've just killed the other two spurious threads...

It won't erase any user data, it might erase some other fixable things (like your default background) but I did it on Vodafone and it was fine - nothing was deleted.

Thanks.

I wonder what caused the multiple threads (it certainly wasn't me!). Any ideas DEViANT, since you're a mod?

EDIT: I think I may have clicked BACK to edit my thread instead of clicking EDIT when I wanted to add something. I've done it when replying to posts on some forums aswell and hadn't noticed a problem. I remember someone said that clicking BACK and then SUBMIT causes another thread/post to be submitted. I guess it must've been me then! Sorry for any inconvinience.

I have no idea, but that sounds about right, though I always click 'back' and I don't think I've double-posted/threaded before. I thought you might have been looking for more attention for your thread but evidently not.

Don't worry, no harm done!

Sometimes there are just errors writing to the database. It was more than likely an error in transmission.

Don't worry, no harm done!Nah, if I wanted attention I wouldn't do that cos it'd just annoy people. I'm pretty sure it was cos I was clicking BACK in my browser cos I noticed a double-post by me in another forum (on another website). Elasticpants, it might be different with me cos I don't use Internet Explorer.
