SMS caller ID for s60

Ok, some of you would have seen that on SE phones, when you get a new message, it tells you who it's from like "1 message received from bob' or whatever.

Is there a Symbian app that would add that functionality to my 6600? Does anyone else find it annoying that even when you receive a message and you press Open (or whatever it says) you STILL don't know who it's from unless you close it and go to your inbox?

I would find that annoying, but it is not the case on my 7610, which is S60.

Well it's the case with my 6600 and multimedia messages - it just says 'Multimedia' at the top. I have to scroll back up or press 'Options' then 'info'. Why can't it just be plain as day to see who sent it?? Why do you have to read the message before who sent it??

you have 7610? is your MMS working. i cant receve MMS. what firmware you have? do you have some new settings?

Try the s60 application "SMSFace"

It will tell you who it is from if you have their data in the phonebook. I have 7610 and it always tells me who it is from, if contact is there in phone book. The company ones, orange, airtel, etc. always have the company name also. I love the little icons - a small music note tells you it is an mms, a small star tells you it is unread, etc.
