ok, so i got the Nokia 7200 today in the mail, and i couldnt wait to open the box.. at first i thought it was going to be big and ugly but when i opened the box, it proved me wrong.
The phone is actually not that big when its closed (a bit fat though), and the blue one that i got looks really stylee. But the phone still looks a bit wierd.
anyway, i inserted the battery and simcard and began the hunt for the on button, i looked everywhere on the phone and couldnt find it. After a long search, i found the tiny on/off button hidden next to the IR port. I turned the phone on and entered my pincode, I noticed straight away that the phone is a bit slow, like the 7250, but that wasnt too bad.
-The screen on the phone is not very impressive, i can say that the screen on the 6230 is alot better. Also the screen looks really small, since there is alot of wasted space on top and below the screen.
-The keys are big and easy to press, typing txt msgs is easier than on the 6230, and the D-pad is waaay better than the one on the 6230.
-The speaker on the phone is the same as the 6230.
-Although the camera is VGA, the quality of the pics is not that good.. the camera speed and picture quality on the 6230 is definately better than the 7200. Even the quality of videos recorded by the 7200 are not very good, id say they are the same quality as the 6220 videos.
-When the phone is open, it feels fragile. the screen doesnt lock into place and wobbles back and forth if u move ur hand fast. the cloth covers are pretty cool, but you can tell that they are going to wear out quickly.
I really like the headphones that came with the 7200, they are better than the standard nokia headphones sound-wise and looks-wise.

thats all ive got to say about the phone, ill let the pictures finish the job.

Is it me ... or are the 7xxx phones the 'stylish phones':
eg Nokia 7200, 7250, 7250i, 7610 ...

I reckon the 7200 is great for ordinary use. But because I've been through 3 Symbians now ... I can never go back to Series 40 (unfortunately)

@ zalameh1, nice review. Love the pics ...

the 7xxx range was always (to me) a kind of unconventional phone

hei, hik_au,

7 series are fashion phones, 6 series are business phones and 3 series are entry level phones. True, don't u think?

btw, cool review on the 7200. Thought of getting it, but the only problem I had with the phone was with the screen. Too small for the phone. Got myself a 7610 instead. No regrets.

I've seen the headphones and it's so much more cooler than what I got with my old 7250i. have you seen the limited edition 7200? It's white color + leather. That's really cool.

From what i knew... the white color 7200 is only sold in boutiques and costs a fortune.......

but where i live nokia 7200 has minimal market value, new one cost slightly cheaper than 6600 and 6230 which is opposite in europe and asia pacific and one or two month used set is available for almost the half of the price of the new one.
this goes same for any motorola set also like v600 which cost 250 us $ for brandnew.

anyway zalameh1 great review keep up the good work, micheal may be considering to give u a job as a kiwi correspondent like sid for aus :D .

cheers

I like 7200 very much. It is just so cool. My friend has one, and while it is sooooooooooo slow, and has display which is rather on the small side, textile covers, and that smooth opening(maybe to smooth, becouse you have to use both hands in order to open the phone) make it cool, not to mention colored menu(first S45 with full color menu system).

Good things:

It looks cool,
opens in a cool way,
it has unque covers,
menu system is nice,
camera is not a shar one, but colors on photos made by 7200 are realistic, bright and satured,
you can change SIMs withou turning off the device.

Bad things:

You have to use both of your hands in order to open the phone, which may be a problem if you are holding a glass or something in your other hand,
screen is to small, if you count in that 7200 is a clamshell,
camera takes to long to turn on(2,5 seconds).

P.S. Tananananana... I am back. I somehow managed to forget my password... And I've changed my computer, so there was no auto log-in, and I changed my E-mail... Life is so complicated at times...

Anyways, I'am back. And, please don't be mad on me becouse of my English...

I read on the nokia site that it's gonna be available in KL sometime soon. I don't think it's gonna costs a fortune. Remember the 8850? (I'm not sure if this is the model. The one that has a slide cover on the keypad) They had a special gold edition and it cost almost the same but it was just harder to get.

Isn't it supposed to be like RM2000 or RM4000? One of those two...

the 7200 in KL is around 2k when it came out. So the white one shouldn't be more than 3k. But I have to admit, it's not gonna be easy to get it. I'm guessing that it would only be made available through some special deal or sumthing. Anybody with more concrete info?
