What is wrong with my nokia please help

please could some noe help me my nokia 7250 powers up and then powers itself back down again (Screen Lights up), please could someone help me.

Sounds like it needs a software update/reflash. Take it into a service centre for them to diagnose it. May also need a good charge/new battery - when you charge it, does the LCD display power on and display the battery bars on the side?

yes it does power on and the battery bars do show what should i do now?

Take it to a service centre is all I can recommend - it needs a reflash/software update.

how much would you think it would cost,
is it worth it to get it fixed.

I suspect a reflash should cost up to about £25 or you could get it done unofficially in various places (i.e. Ebay or online phone stores) for about £10. But even that wouldn't guarantee it working again. If it's still under warranty then it will be free assuming you didn't drop/get it wet or anything like that. You get 15 months from the build date of the phone and that will be something you can determine by taking the phone in to your nearest service centre.

If you need to pay to have it repaired, I'd cut your losses and buy a new one. You could get about £30-50 for a scrapped 7250 on Ebay and that can go towards a new phone (and there are plenty of better ones than the 7250 available now). I'd recommend perhaps: Nokia 3200, 6610i or Motorola V300, V500 - they shouldn't cost a fortune.

The 3200 is virtually the same, you are right, except the 3200 has a much reduced memory capacity (1mb vs. 5mb on the 7250) - it's also a damn sight cheaper, 3200 costs about £99.99 and 7250(i) is still doing £149.99.

Obviously the network you buy it on doesn't matter because it can be unlocked here free!

Most likely so that if it has less memory it would be cheaper, and appeal more to it's target audience...:)

You shouldn't pay anything for re-flashing if it still on warranty, otherwise you'll pay a very small and affordable amout of money :)
