I like to use my phone a lot as a, well, a phone. The only problem is that I kinda smashed my T616 and it's on my desk in 3 parts right now (I won't go into details, heheh). Basically, the only things that I'm on the fence on between getting a new T616 and a new T637 is the difference in price ($75), the buttons, and the screen.

I'm not sure if I like the buttons on the T637. They seem odd, I guess. The TFT screen is great, but I'm not sure if it's worth the price difference.

Opinions?

Once you try the 637 you will never want to look at the screen of 616 again
go for the 637
once you get your hand on a T637 ( unlock it unbrand it, ) remove all the Provider stuff
and you are in business

Thanks for the replies.

I got the opportunity to play with my friend's T637 today, and I must say, although the screen is very nice, there are some things that I don't like.

First of all, the build quality seems very low. The phone seemed to squeak and move a bit under the slightest pressure. I also didn't like the keypad, as it seemed harder to use than the T616's. Another big gripe is that the refresh rate in camera mode seems to have gone down. It's extremely laggy, and almost seemed to have a framerate that was half that of my T616.

Definitely not worth the extra $75.

Good choice then, but i think both cameras refresh rate were real BAD actually.

Yea the T637' screen is way better than the T616 :) But hmm I do agree that both phones have bad refresh rates

Id choose the T637 cause of two things: Better screen quality and i like the design more than the T616.

Why not consider the Z600 or is it that you Don't want want a clamshell? I don't know its price compared to the t616 and t637, but you get a screen better than the t616 but a similar keypad. If the Z600 is out of question I would go for the t616 and save the money for a future upgrade.

the z600 uses a different frequencie than the 616 and 637, so that probably wouldn't work for him

it is a cool phone, but here in the US you have to pay like $500 if you want, where it's like free to get the 637 or 616

I recently purchased the T637, and I can't say that I have single complaint about it.

First, the camera's refresh rate is more than adequate. You may have been experiencing a slow refresh rate if the camera was in night mode. The night mode increases the exposure and may have given it the illussion of slow refresh rate.

Second, the keyboard was the only concern i had when i was purchasing the T367. However, I have found the keypad works very well. I would much rather have the raised, rounded keys than the flat keys on a clam shell that cannot be differentiated between when you are not looking at the phone.

I'd have to say the T637 is the best phone I have owned and I have owned many phones. (I'm rather rough on them.)
