My mate saw a 256 MMC card for Nokia at a swap meet! Is this legit or not compatible to Nokias? Ive heard the biggest card is 128 MB?

most 256 MMC cards will work, but not all will work... there is a list of MMC that works with 6230 and n-gage in howardforums, fi you want to check...

Some people with 6600 and N-Gage have a 1GB MMC Card inserted and working fine
There's even a guy who forced the same 1GB MMC Card into the 7610 (despite the fact it uses RS-MMC)
I'm satisfied with my 512 megabytes ...

You can get 1GB cards that work with the phones. Most people would upload them using a memory card reader on the PC - can be done in 10 minutes or so. Going through the phone would take a long time, yes.

But how do you make playlist, transfer it on MMC with cardreader and play playlist on the phone?

I'm using a 1GB SD card in my Sendo X which is also Series 60.
Its definitely a bit quicker using a card reader to transfer songs onto the card although I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the Sendo Connect software (rebadged Nokia Data Suite I presume) moves large files onto the card over a USB connection.
You can actually make playlists directly on the phone. Just go to the playlist view, select New, give it a name, select the tracks you want to include and confirm.
I've never had a Nokia but I presume they support the same sizes of SD and the same MP3 player as the Sendo is based on Nokia software.

hmm, no nokia phone supports SD at the moment, only MMC cards are supported, although most card readers, if not all, will support both SD and MMC cards...
Nokia PC Suite-> Nokia Audio Manager can create playlsit for u for the 6230, not sure bout the other nokias...

I prefer SD as they tend to be a bit quicker. But I guess if Nokia's don't support them you don't have the option.

just wait for the v. 4 MMC, it will be 4x faster than the current SD, and will have up to 2GB, both the 9500 and 9300 is already officially supporting it, perhaps future FW revisons of 6230 will support it too..

The cheapest and fastest way of transfering data to/from phone is to get MMC and card reader.

Transfer the files on the old MMC to your pc. Then copy the files from your pc to the 256MB card.

Daru: Yeah the 32MB is deff not enough. Im looking to get a 256MB card. If you run a search on howard forums (www.howardforums.com), there should be a compatibility list for the 6600.
