they both have the same features, except the 6260 has a higher quality screen and is symbian

... and thus you should choose the 6260! symbian means almost unlimited expansion and trust me, i didnt think so until i got my 6600, but screen size does matter!

if ur thinkin about getting the 6260, then i dont think u should even try to compare it with the 6230... the 6260 will kick the 6230's a$$ in every single way...

does the 6260 have a rsmmc or a mmc, cos the nokia site says mmc, but the demo clearly shows a rsmmc!!

I heard somewhere that its rsmmc, but if the nokia site says mmc then for now i would take that as the most credible source

check out the demo of the 6260 on this link on the nokia site. it is definatly a rsmmc, but the features say otherwise.

I reckon the 6260 should be using a RS-MMC. I've found that Nokia says "MultiMedia Card" but they were referring to the RS-MMC. Think it was on both 6260 and 6630 pages at Nokia.com ....
Most of the phones should know use the RS-MMC version rather than the MMC. All because of 'saving space'

Yup. But maybe the 6260 has an MMC instead? Because it doesn't look like the RSMMC made the phone any small -_-"

well, I think he means a space so that you can remove the RS-MMC without removing the battery; a good choice that nokia made.

I think you should get a partner, then you wouldn't have to buy yourself presents on your birthday. :P
I am kidding, ok? Some people are fragile that way. :D

nah, 6230 will still win in the size and weight department, plus the 6230 OS will still be faster, and it will still probably win by a small margin in the battery dept...

Well, clearly the 6260 is the way forward (unless its unduly size is a problem) but I'd love to see you try and get it this month or even in the next 2-3 months (remember the short supplies on the 6230 when it came out?). And it takes an RS-MMC so there's even more cost for you to consider over a 6230.

If you have money to burn, get the 6260. I heard it's a bit thick though but I really like the design. Sadly, a lot of the 6230's sold in the Philippines in particular , even those sold from legitimate stores have so many bugs. Too bad, I actually wanted to buy this as I've always liked small phones if only I was lucky enough to get a bug-free unit. Some subscribers have had to have their units replaced twice ot thrice and Globe philippines no longer offers this.
You're very lucky indeed if you get a bug-free 6230. That would have been the perfect phone for me.
If you do get a 6230 then decide to buy the datacable, the price would be enough to get a 7610, which is why I bought a 7610 (which comes with a datacable in the sales package).

what bugs are you talking about??? care to elaborate, since i have a 6230 since march and and there are only 2 bugs that i saw and 1 of that bug was the "caller group bug" which was easily resolved by doing the factory reset...
the other bug, which is no big deal at all, is that the SMS or txt alert sound will not be heard on the phone if u have a BT headset connected it will only go throught the BT headset, but dont get me wrong, this is only with the SMS alert sound and not with the normal phone ring on a call...
i think u r depriving ur self of a good phone by not even trying it and simply listening to a lot of rumors...

I had one of the first ones to be sold through retail stores in England and mine reboots when using MP3 sometimes. If you create an invalid playlist, try and access it and then press the red hang-up button, it reboots; if you scroll fast through the gallery it reboots; if you do things in the Gallery using the MMC too fast it reboots, then makes the MMC inaccessible until you take the battery out. Setting an MP3 from the MMC as a ringtone also fails to work quite a lot and also causes reboots if a call comes in sometimes (solution is to copy to phone's internal memory). There are a lot of things like this - don't get me wrong, I love the phone, but it is definitely full of bugs (at least the one I've got is).

i got a graphite 6230 v3.14 from hungary, but have now upgraded to 4.28, not because of any bug.... i had it since 28-mar, which makes it 1 of the early version...
1) reboots using MP3 bug-> never had it
2) invalid playlist, press red button bug-> never experienced it, well perhaps coz i never put an invalid playlist. but why would use an invalid playlist, in the 1st place?? so id ont htink that's a bug...
3) scrolling fast in gallery and it reboots bug-> happens once on 3.14, but i was never able to duplicate it, never happened on the 4.28
4) gallery with the MMC reboot, and hanging-> never had it, this is probably dependent on the MMC and not on the phone...
5) MP3 on MMC bug-> this is not the phones fault, this is caused by the MMC itself, and it is on case-to-case basis, some MMC are known to be faster than the others, 1 have used up to 256MB and there is no problem, most of the problems occur with the 512MB and 1GB MMC cards
most of the 128 and 256MB MMCs never had problems, even those unknown ones, but once u go higher 512MB to 1GB, then the trick to get the faster ones and reliable ones like ATP, Mobymemory, Pretec, etc...
of course there will alwys be some defects, all phones will have it 1 way or the other, but i think majority of the 6230 owners are satisfied with the 6230, i know coz i am...
actually i had an early version 6230 purchased in Paris fnac store (huuuuuge music/electronics store) and it had the mp3 reboot problem. also bluetooth connection to my Palm would lock up the phone and I would have to restart it and other similar bugs. too bad because the phone is small and very comfortable to use...but just tooooo many lock ups...

I have an invalid playlist because I can't edit it, some problem with PC Suite 6.3 and my phone, so I just left it there.

the 6.3 is buggy, i find the 5.8 sooo much better.... you can always try the 6.4, it is much better than the 6.3

honestly, this is the 1st time i heard of MP3 lock up problems, and i am regular on other similar forums... what sort of MMC were you using at that time???
the Palm and 6230 BT connectivity is a know issue, i have heard problems with it, and since i dont use palm, i never followed how the others resolved it, if ever it was resolved at all...
