Hi all,
I got my 7610 yesterday, and am really pleased with it, however I just have a few questions that hopefully someone can answer for me.
Data cable: I have connected it and installed the drivers on the cd, but everytime i plug it in, windows opens up the add new hardware wizard. In the pc suite, the phone is listed, but it is greyed out so I cannot transfer anything over.
Games: With my 3650, the games were on the cd and you have to send them across. On the 7610, there are no games and none on the cd...is this normal?
Muvee: I can create muvees fine, but when I go into the muvees program, and try and play one that I have made, it takes me straight back to the main menu, and ideas on how to stop this?
One more thing.... when I take a photo, say it is 200kb, how can I set what that is when it goes into the mms editor? Because at the moment sometimes it reduces it to 35kb, other times 36, but I could really do with it being just under 35.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! Don't get me wrong, the phones great, it's just these few problems and questions that I could do with getting sorted out. :)

its normal for there to be no games i asssume as there werent any on my phone or cd. you can download bounce, triple pop and space impact from nokia site.
i dont use pc suite as with every single nokia phone i've had (except 7600) it has NEVER worked and i've just given up with it. instead i bought a bluetooth usb adaptor (they're really cheap, like £20 or something, just look on www.kelkoo.co.uk to find the cheapest).
if you go to the camera settings you can change the quality of the photos (basic, normal or high), for mms i set it to normal but if you want it really small use basic. theres no way you can actually set how many kb you want it to be as all photos are slightly different sizes. cant see what difference 1kb would make anyway !
register with www.my6600.net forums, its a forum for series 60 phones including the 7610 so the best place to get help, plus theres loads of things for the phone you can download like games, apps and themes etc...

i'm not sure about data cable although i think you might need to download the "cable" drivers off the nokia website or something?
.. as for no games, it doesn't come with any nokia games.. but depending on where you got your 7610 it might come with localised games (mine came with some stuff put on it by Singtel)..
i'm not really sure about that muvee thing- it works for me. maybe you don't have realplayer installed?
as for the image? mine usually compresses it down to 28k or so- but then i found an option in the settings for multimedia messages which set the quality of photo to high and now its about 40-50k.. maybe thats the problem setting? try finding it.
good luck~

When you add a megapixel picture (1152x864) to a MMS, the phone automatically resizes it to (576x432) when sent. The size largely depends on the colours etc
Data Cable works for me. Works perfectly (sometimes I have to log off and log back in again for the connection to be detected). I had a mate who has the same problem. He was using PC Suite 6.1, and upgrade to 6.2. Then BOOM! It worked
Try downloading PC Suite 6.2 off Nokia.com
Snake EX can be installed seperately (not on the CD though, and wasn't intended for 7610). Nokia promised that Snake EX and Mix Pix would be on the 7610 ...
For the Muvees, just create one. Then try playing it through Gallery rather than the Muvee Director program itself. See if that works ...
Hope that helps.

@Alberrisford:
The datacable will work, but only if the Windows XP is licensed and you've upgraded to Service Pack 2 (or if you atleast have service pack one).
Loading the driver for the cable isn't the easiest thing in the world to do, but don't give up. A little persistence will work...hopefully.
Once you get the cable working, it's actually easy to transfer files from your phone to pc or vice versa.
If you want to use bluetooth, that wouldn't be such a bad idea. You'll have to install the Nokia Modem software though for bluetooth connection.
I'm no techie, I'm just fortunate enough to have a brother who understands computers. It can get frustrating sometimes, if you know what I mean.
