Okay I've had my 7600 for ages now, having used a SET610 previously. On the T610, BT does not connect to the headset (mines a HBH65) unless a call either way is initiated. On the 7600, the headset is connected full time and as a result
Battery life is piss poor, 4 hours standby on the headset max, 24 hrs on the SE
You can't connect any other BT devices like PC BT dongles, PDA
I know this is the same on the 6600 and AFAIC tell the 7610. Hell even the XDA II got it right. Does anyone even care that this *feature* is screwed up. Any channel I can feedback to Nokia to?

I dont have a 7600 .... but I have to disagree with you on that. I dont think it's the "same" as a 6600 as you say. My phone can connect to my tungsten T3 with no problems. Same with my friends BT headset (think it's an hbh-30) which I borrow from time to time. I leave it "on" sometimes for the whole day... and it lasts around 20 or so hours still. Yup, I regularly use it to connect to my desktop's BT dongle and my laptop's BT pc card, I actually prefer that to connect because IR data transfer is so slow. Again, no problems in doing so.
I have also tried it once, to connect the phone to the laptop via BT, and use it as a modem to connect to the internet. Speaking as an ex-SE user... I couldn't do the same using my T68i's bluetooth. Some BT drivers needed to be downloaded and installed... but after doing so, I still couldn't get it to work. I didn't get to try it on my T610.
cheers!

Hi difenbaker, there's been some miscom. What I mean is since the phone insists on holding on to the BT headset fulltime, you cannot connect to another BT device until you disconnect the headset. This was done on a friends 6600, I'm surprised your friends HBH30 lasted 20 hours cause I can only get that kind of battery life IF I disconnect the headset manually after every call. YMMV.

i have 6230, and jabra BT200, i can last 2~3 days max, with the jabra connected all the time... it doesnt bother me if i have to disconnect my jabra, if i need to connect with my PC, coz i dont transfer files via BT all the time, i only need to connect if i need to download some stuffs to my PC or vice versa, it is no big deal...and if you download stuffs frequent and with big files, ur much better off with the cables...
1 of the things that i like with the way nokia implemented their BT, is the voice dial, it is better compared to SE, in mu own experience, (others may got a different experience), but i have used T39m, T68i, and T610 with HBH-20, HBH-60, jabra, and hdw-2, and i have never got a better voice dial capability other than with my curent set-up of 6230 + jabra bt200... the additional stuffs are the MP3 playback capability on the headset, being able to do re-dial the last called number...

Wow, time for me to dump the HBH65 I guess. :) I've given up sending SMS from the Palm because of the always connecting thing, for one.
Not that it matters but the Jabra will probably last a week with an SE phone! Voice dial mostly sucks unless I'm in a quiet environment regardless of brand, which is seldom, in my case.

Hmm, seems like Jabra users are complaining about reduced battery life also....Read the last msg containing Jabra's reply.
