Has anyone esle noticed that when you play back a video the sound slowly starts to become out of sync? It is definately not the original thats at fault and it plays perfectly on my girlfriends k700i. Its really annoying and renders it useless when trying to watch anything for more than a few minutes. Anyone found a solution?

Version 4.28
Its not noticeable until after a couple of minutes and then gets progressively worse.
I have come accross one or two other people mentioning it.

It's normally the video file you had, if it's been re-encoded that can happen. I've seen it worst with DivX files from the net which have VBR MP3 audio streams in them, or also files with non-standard (e.g. US) frame rates of things like 23.997. I've never lost sync on my 6230. It could also be the MMC you are streaming the video from, if it's corrupted (even in the slightest bit) it can cause all kinds of mayhem.

Cheers for replying.
Its a encoded in mp4 using pvauthor with a standard framerate of 15 fps. The orginal is fine and the 3gp file plays perfectly on my desktop.
As the files play perfectly on a k700i would it not suggest something wrong with my phone?

The 6230 is a bit more picky with video files. If I were you, I'd use Nokia's own Multimedia Player (which confusingly can also convert files into compatible 3GP ones and does a pretty good job of it too - despite lack of options). That said, I've never had sync issues on my 6230 and I've managed to watch the final episode of Friends on it (yes, that's 45 minutes of video without loss of sync!).
