Hi all,
This is a suprise:

For all the complaints about recent models (aka 7260), this is a nice looking basic phone, for a good price.

The phone actually looks really nice in real life. My friend has one, and she's fine with it. She hates the ringtones though. Metal-looking buttons are cool as well.

Really? The buttons on the 3100 are too close together and fairly small. Anyway jolo, this phone sells in Asia btw, just incase you were thinking it's a new phone for the US :).

Yes.

That I knew - friends in China said that the 3100 was too toy-like, so I assumed that the 3120 was special for the Asian market - though I bet it sells well in the US.

Perhaps. I know the 6820 seems really popular, quite a lot of US people in the Nokia Unlocking thread ask for codes for the 6820. When my 3rd sis was there to visit my other sis' a few week back, she said the 6820 was advertised everywhere. (Well she didn't say the 6820, she said the "nokia phone which opens up and has a full keyboard and is small and has a camera", so I assumed she was talking about it). :).

THe N6820 is a real nice alternitive device to having an otherwise bulky bulge in your pockets. IM just curious know if they will come up with a Symbian version with a larger screen. The folding KB really makes it the winning decision I think. And even for short one or two word responses, you dont have to fli it open, and that makes this particular phone ideal for the texting crowd.

I'm thinking of picking up a N6820...or even a 6800 for that matter. I have a N3620, so the bluetooth and camera aren't an issue, but I like the idea of a keyboard.
If I remember correctly at first the 6820 was going to be a "limited edition" so to speak, so maybe the fact that they are still selling it says something about its popularity.

Interesting. Do you remember where you heard that? I saw in the Mobile Review "preview" of the phone that the reviewer seemed to think that there would be a replacement for it in September or October of this year. Maybe if it's selling well Nokia will sit on releasing a follow-up?

There is no immediate plans for a follow-up. There is listed a 6820i on www.nokiausa.com. My assumption is that this is the same phone, but with Blackberry.
